Derek Hough is officially a dad! The Dancing With the Stars judge welcomed his first child with wife Hayley Erbert on December 29. After privately doting on their little one for a few days, the couple shared their baby news with the world on Monday, January 5.
Hough and Erbert revealed that their daughter’s name is Everley and gushed, “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.” The comments section of their joint Instagram post was filled with love from fans, friends, and Dancing With the Stars cast members.
Hough’s sister Julianne Hough wrote, “Welcome to the world sweet angel Everley,” and Valentin Chmerkovskiy gushed, “Congrats on your greatest creation yet ❤️.” Witney Carson kept it brief, simply commenting, “AHHHHH!!!!!”
Season 34 cast member Dylan Efron added, “She’s going to be so loved ❤️,” while former champion Melissa Rycroft wrote, “Congrats!!!!!” and Hough’s Season 14 partner, Maria Menounos, said, “Congrats!!!”
Carrie Ann Inaba, one of Hough’s fellow judges, also popped in to write, “congratulations!!!! Welcome Everley 🤍🤍🤍.” Meanwhile, Emma Slater said, “Everley ❤️ welcome to the world! I can’t wait to meet you!”

Hough and Erbert, who got married in August 2023, announced they were expecting in July. In October, they revealed that they had previously dealt with pregnancy loss in 2024. “Although we are so excited to be welcoming our rainbow soon, we honor our baby that never made it earthside,” they shared at the time.
While pregnant with Everely, Erbert opened up to Swooon about how supportive her husband had been. “He’s been so hands-on and present, and he always makes sure I feel supported, no matter how busy life gets,” she gushed. “Watching him balance everything while still prioritizing our family has been really amazing.”
Erbert also expressed her excitement about seeing Hough become a father, adding, “He has such a big heart and so much love to give, and I know that becoming a dad is going to bring out an entirely new side of him.”
