What Happened at Brooklyn Beckham’s Wedding? New Details Revealed Amid Feud Rumors
Brooklyn Beckham is breaking his silence amid years-long speculation that he’s feuding with his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham. The rumors began after Brooklyn’s wedding to Nicola Peltz in April 2022. When the bride didn’t wear a gown designed by Brooklyn’s famous mother for her big day, it was assumed that there was drama between Posh, Becks, and their eldest son.
Although the family members played nice in the press for a few years, buzz about a family feud reignited in 2025 when Brooklyn and Nicole skipped David’s 50th birthday party, as well as other milestone events at which Brooklyn’s siblings were present.
Brooklyn finally addressed the drama in a January 19 Instagram Story post, noting that the dress drama from the wedding was just the beginning. Scroll down for everything we know. (David and Victoria have yet to release a statement regarding Brooklyn’s post.)
What happened at Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding?
Brooklyn made wild claims about his parents’ behavior at his wedding. Perhaps most shocking was the story about his and Nicola’s first dance.
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” Brooklyn alleged. “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my life.”
The couple renewed their vows in August 2025 to “create new memories” of their wedding day. Victoria and David were not present for the vow renewal.
Brooklyn also claimed that Victoria and David “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children. They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated.”
There was also drama around the seating arrangement at the wedding, per Brooklyn’s post. “My mum went so far as to call me ‘evil’ because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.”
Why didn’t Nicola Peltz wear a Victoria Beckham wedding dress?
After Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding, the couple initially shut down speculation about family drama. Nicola opened up to Variety about why she wore Valentino instead of Victoria Beckham when she walked down the aisle, explaining, “I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress. She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”

However, in Brooklyn’s Instagram statement nearly four years later, he claimed there was much more to the story. “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,” Brooklyn alleged.
Why did Brooklyn Beckham skip David’s 50th birthday party?
Brooklyn’s Instagram post also addressed his and Nicola’s absence from David’s 50th birthday in May 2025. According to Brooklyn, he and his wife traveled to London for the event but “were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him.”
He said that David “refused all our attempts [to see him], unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.” Brooklyn claimed that his dad “finally agreed” to see him, but “under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited.” When the Beckhams traveled to Los Angeles, where Brooklyn and Nicola live, “they refused” to see the couple, according to Brooklyn.
Did Brooklyn Beckham block his family?
There are two sides to this story. Brooklyn claimed that he was blocked by his brothers on social media “out of nowhere this last summer [2025].” However, in December 2025, Cruz Beckham shared a different version of the situation.
After news outlets began noticing that David and Victoria had seemingly unfollowed Brooklyn on Instagram, Cruz Beckham reposted an article about the situation and wrote, “NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son…let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked…as did I.”
Why is Brooklyn Beckham feuding with his family?
In addition to the reasons listed above, Brooklyn listed out other grievances about his family. “For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,” he shared. “The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a picture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”
He alleged that David and Victoria have been “trying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship” with Nicola for years. “My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one,” Brooklyn continued. “My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.”
Brooklyn slammed his parents, claiming they care more about “public promotion and endorsements” than their family. “Brand Beckham comes first,” he claimed. “Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations. We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.”
He also insisted in his post that he does “not want to reconcile” with his parents and siblings, and made it clear that he was “not being controlled” by his wife to feel this way.
“The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,” Brooklyn concluded. “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.”
