Kara and Guillermo went through some major ups and downs during the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 9, culminating in a shocking reconciliation during the Tell All: No Limits. However, viewers were first introduced to the 90 Day Fiancé couple long before their stint on Happily Ever After.
TLC viewers first met Kara and Guillermo on Season 9 of 90 Day Fiancé‘s flagship show, when she was 29, and he was 23. The couple crossed paths in the Dominican Republic while Kara was visiting for a work trip. Are 90 Day Fiancé’s Kara and Guillermo still together?
It is currently unclear whether Kara and Guillermo are still together. However, the fact that they have joined the cast of The Last Resort Season 3 is proof that the duo is willing to put in the work for their relationship.
From their first appearance on Season 9 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Kara and Guillermo made it known that their relationship had been strained due to work, intimacy, and other issues. Deciding to go their separate ways, Kara said, “I wanted it to be different. I think you’re not my person. Doesn’t mean that I don’t love you, that I don’t care about you, and that I don’t respect you as a father and my son.” Instead, she said, “I just think that we have two vastly different versions of how we got here.”
What happened between Kara and Guillermo on Happily Ever After?
Happily Ever After Season 9 was one rocky ride for Kara and Guillermo. During the season, the parents officially separated. Fans were quick to notice that they had unfollowed each other on Instagram before their separation was announced.
After the four-part Tell All: No Limits, we now know their relationship status isn’t as clear-cut as we thought. While Jasmine Pineda and Gino Palazzolo, the only other couple to split that season, sat on opposite sides of the room, Kara and Guillermo sat side-by-side like the rest of the happy couples. Even so, when host Shaun Robinson asked them to give viewers an update on their relationship status, Kara shared that they are “separated, living separate, coparenting, [but] still married.”
Leaving the Tell All, Guillermo told the rest of the cast that he wanted to try to get back together with Kara. When asked if they ever could, Guillermo responded, “After many different conversations with everybody, you know, and thinking about it, yeah.” On the verge of tears, Kara admitted to the cast, “When I look at his face, it reminds me, like, I used to look at his face and feel so much hope.”
He shared that Kara lives in the house she and Guillermo bought together, while he lives somewhere else. After revealing their living arrangements, Guillermo admitted that he does not think that he and Kara are equals in their relationship. He claimed, “If I will do the same things that she do, I will definitely be looking really bad,” arguing that the subtext of Kara’s comments towards him is often, “I don’t care about you. It’s not your country, but I still, I don’t care about you.” Kara immediately refuted his claims.
“There is a small line of respect that I feel from her just because I’m the father of her kid,” he explained. “And if Nico wouldn’t be there, that respect, it would be none.” Oof! After they had hashed out their differences and discussed how Kara’s musical career impacted their relationship, Shaun asked the duo if divorce was next for them, and Kara let her know that (as of right now) they are just separated.
Why are Kara and Guillermo on The Last Resort Season 3?
If Kara and Guillermo have separated, why are they on The Last Resort? TLC teases, “Kara and Guillermo are currently living in separate homes just minutes apart as they try to determine whether their marriage and their family can be saved. Years of built-up resentment, compounded by jealousy and suspicions of infidelity, have overshadowed the love they once shared. After reconnecting at the Tell All, they acknowledged that their feelings remain, but they are unsure how to move forward.”
Did 90 Day Fiancé’s Kara cheat on Guillermo?
At the Tell All: No Limits, Guillermo told the rest of the cast, “I have a problem with Kara when she drinks. When she drinks, it’s a completely different person, and she knows it.” He then revealed that he feels insecure about Kara’s partying because she often performs at events thrown by her “DJ friend,” Javier, whom she slept with (once) before she met Guillermo. According to Guillermo, Javier had messaged her throughout their relationship, asking her to go out. Kara even shared, “I’ll be very honest, if I went to him tomorrow and was like, ‘Hey, let’s hook up,’ I have no doubts he would.” Even so, she maintained that she never cheated on Guillermo.

The couple previously addressed this during Episode 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 9, when Guillermo accused Kara of cheating on him, which she denied. While the fight occurred off-camera, Kara told producers, “A few days ago, Guillermo saw me laughing and writing on my phone, and he legitimately thinks that I’m cheating on him.” When asked if his accusation held any weight, Kara maintained that “there’s zero truth to his accusations.”
Did 90 Day Fiancé’s Guillermo cheat on Kara?
As Guillermo claimed that Kara had cheated on him, Kara worried he may be “projecting.” While he did not directly deny the claims, Guillermo stated, “I was hoping for a cute reconciliation in some way, for everybody, for me, for Nico, for a family. But I feel like we just talk deeper into our problems that we have. Now she’s just saying that I cheated on her. And I feel like it’s even more intense for me because I gave my life to come here to marry her, to create a family. So it doesn’t feel safe.”
What have Kara and Guillermo said about their separation?
While we do not know if Kara and Guillermo have reconciled, Kara shared on the show, “I don’t know, I just feel like sometimes I feel okay, and I’m optimistic that everything’s going to be fine, and then other times it feels like we’re really on the brink, like on the edge of the end.”
According to Kara, the “saddest part” has been remembering how they were when they first got together. “I think about how happy we used to be,” she shared. “I just see him now in two different ways, you know, it’s like the old Guillermo that I really love, and then like this new Guillermo that I feel like… I don’t know how we got here.”
