Who Is the Best ‘Bridgerton’ Love Interest So Far? (POLL)
Bridgerton‘s Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Colin (Luke Newton), and even Francesca (Hannah Dodd) have all found love over the past three seasons, landing themselves husbands or wives. But which of those love interests romanced the best? As we gear up to watch Sophie (Yerin Ha) catch the eye of Benedict (Luke Thompson) in Season 4, we thought we’d take a look back at the men and women who have stolen the hearts of our beloved Bridgerton siblings so far.
Before we get your input in the poll at the end of the page, let’s go through the options. The charming-yet-troubled Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) set a high bar all the way back in Season 1, which made him one of the most complex characters in Bridgerton as a whole. Though Simon and Daphne had their fair share of miscommunication and drama, Simon built a strong friendship with Daphne first. Simon made her (and us) swoon on multiple occasions — remember that speech to the Queen? — even when he struggled to find himself worthy of love and accept his feelings for Daphne.
Then came Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), who posed a challenge for Anthony from the start. Though Kate and Anthony are at odds for most of Season 2, it comes from a place of deep care for her sister on the selfless Kate’s part. Kate is one of the few who can match Anthony’s competitiveness, strength, and honor, which becomes evident early on. She’s guarded and tough on the outside, but there’s a vulnerability and warmth that she reveals to Anthony over time.
Season 3 gave us not one, but two new spouses. Though he didn’t get much of a starring role, we’d be remiss not to include the sweet John Stirling (Victor Alli), who gains Francesca’s affection with his quiet compassion. But Season 3 belongs to the Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Penelope had been yearning after Colin for years before he finally realized he was perfect for her. If we disregard the Lady Whistledown of it all, Penelope was always a good friend to Colin, and she’s always understood him in a way that no one else could. She becomes an even more solid love interest as she comes into her own in Season 3.
