Why Did ‘Bachelor in Paradise’s Kat Izzo & Dale Moss Split?
Kat Izzo is ready to spill the tea on her breakup from Dale Moss. Two months after news of the pair’s split was confirmed, the Bachelor in Paradise alum appeared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with Charity Lawson and Rachel Recchia to break her silence.
Izzo said that she thought her relationship with Moss was “promising” because of the “ups and downs” they went through on the beach during Season 10, which she hoped would correlate into real life. However, things weren’t as they seemed when she and Moss returned to the real world.

Why did Kat Izzo and Dale Moss split?
Izzo said that she didn’t feel like Moss was prioritizing her in their relationship. Off the bat, things were difficult, with her living in San Diego and him in New York. However, she said she made it clear to him from the very beginning that she didn’t want to do long-distance for an extended period of time, but that she also wouldn’t be willing to leave San Diego, where she had just moved and started her job as a Nurse Practitioner.
“I was under the impression that his life was very fluid at the moment,” Izzo explained. “He wanted to leave New York and all these things. It sounded like San Diego was a total option.” However, Moss later pulled back on wanting to move to San Diego, which Izzo “never really got full answers” about. “Apparently, San Diego, to him, is not anywhere he can grow his career,” she revealed.
While Izzo said she’s still not entirely sure what Moss’ job is, she confirmed that it’s something “public-facing” that requires a tripod. “I will never date a man who owns a tripod again,” she insisted.
Izzo admitted that she started noticing some red flags when she and Moss first left BIP and had to keep their relationship a secret. She recalled her then-boyfriend being over-the-top about their privacy. “I understand that you have to be careful, but it felt way more intense,” she said. “We couldn’t go in a gas station together. He felt like everyone knew who he was.”

When she asked Moss about the future, Izzo said she was getting vague responses. He also told her that none of the other couples had those kinds of conversations until further down the line. “At the time, I was like, ‘I guess I’m moving too fast,'” Kat shared. “Then, as things started to settle, I’m like, ‘I don’t care what the other couples do.'”
Even before the show aired, Izzo said things in the relationship were getting “stagnant,” with her having “more drive” for them to “grow together instead of apart.” The first major crack, though, was when she started watching the show and realized Moss was “not honest” with her about certain situations. Specifically, she referenced his flirtation with Allyshia Gupta in Paradise.
“I really needed him to reassure me and talk me through it,” Izzo explained, adding that Moss “completely deflected” when she brought up her concerns. “It just kept getting minimized [with] no accountability.”
After trying couple’s therapy, Izzo realized her and Moss’ communication “did not align very well.” She claimed that he didn’t try to understand her feelings and instead was always focused on proving that someone else was wrong. Plus, Moss’ work kept him busy on weekends, leaving Izzo feeling lonely.
“I need a lot more than what I was receiving, and it felt like I had to either accept his lifestyle and his life or move on,” she admitted. “It didn’t feel like we were trying to build a relationship together.”
The duo had their “biggest fight” after BIP finished airing, and she wanted them to go to New York Fashion Week together. However, Moss convinced her to join him on a trip to Las Vegas instead. She ended up being in an influencer house with all men on a boxing trip, which was something she wasn’t interested in.
Things were tense after the Vegas trip, but Izzo went to New York to celebrate Moss’ birthday at the end of September. For a few weeks after that, their relationship was mostly in limbo, although they never officially broke up. Izzo finally realized she wasn’t getting what she wanted out of Moss, and ended things over the phone. However, immediately after the phone call ended, she received a text from a friend, who had intel about Moss allegedly sleeping with another woman the night before (before the split was official).
Moss denied the hookup at first, but as his conversation with Izzo went on, he allegedly continued to reveal more details. Izzo said she was more frustrated with the fact that Moss was not honest with her about what happened, as opposed to the hookup itself. This validated Izzo’s feelings that Moss was not being truthful during their relationship and made her feel OK about the breakup.
How long were Kat Izzo and Dale Moss together?
Izzo and Moss were together for about six months. They met on Bachelor in Paradise Season 10, which filmed between the end of May and early June 2025. Their breakup was confirmed at the end of November.
Who were Kat Izzo and Dale Moss engaged to?
While Izzo and Moss did not get engaged on Bachelor in Paradise, and instead chose to just leave the show as boyfriend and girlfriend, they are both not strangers to Bachelor Nation engagements.
Moss got engaged to Clare Crawley on Season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020. The two fell for each other fast, and Moss popped the question after less than two weeks of knowing each other. They were together on and off for a little over a year before splitting for good in September 2021.
Meanwhile, Izzo appeared on Season 9 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2023 and ended the show by getting engaged to John Henry Spurlock. They announced their split just four days after the show finished airing that fall.
