This season, Greta Lin was involved in one of 90 Day Fiancé‘s most heartbreaking splits — and, no, we don’t mean her devastating breakup with Matthew — we’re talking about The Other Way star saying goodbye to her precious cat, Hazel, before moving to the UK. Now, Swooon has an update on Greta and Hazel’s reunion status.
During the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 7 Tell All, Greta revealed that she has finally taken up permanent residence in London after her split from her ex-fiancé, Matthew. Seeing as Greta couldn’t bring her cat, Hazel, into Matthew’s house due to space and other animals, viewers assumed Greta would finally get a chance to bring Hazel across the pond once she had her own place. However, Greta revealed to Swooon that Hazel will not be making the cross-continental move.
Greta told Swooon, “I’ve been a nomad for over a year now, and so it was not appropriate for Hazel to come with me. I was not the best owner for her.” However, now that Greta has a job in animal advocacy, she admitted, “My job requires me to travel so much, I’m not suited to care for or live with any animals.”

As it turns out, Hazel wasn’t actually in Greta’s life for that long. She explained that while Hazel is 11 years old, she only cared for her for two of those years. She explained, “I actually only had her for two years, and I was really only taking care of her because she was in quite a bad situation beforehand. Her previous owner had moved, and then gave her away to a friend, and then the friend who was caring for her already had a cat. The cats were fighting a lot, so Hazel was very unhappy.”
“We got along amazingly,” Greta reflected. “Honestly, I’m so glad I got to know her. She’s an amazing cat.” After two years with Hazel, Greta decided to move in with Matthew. She noted, “There was no way I was going to move unless I knew Hazel was going to be in a very great home and environment. If my friend were not willing to take her, I wouldn’t have moved.”
As Greta revealed to Swooon, “This is her forever home, something she hasn’t had for her entire life,” she explained, “Hazel is very happy in her new home. I’ve visited her twice, and she is very attached to her new parent.”
