Just like his General Hospital character, Sonny Corinthos, family is everything to Maurice Benard. The 63-year-old is a proud dad to four kids with his wife, Paula, and he always makes sure to spend quality time with them amid his busy schedule.
Maurice’s daughter, Cassidy, recently celebrated her birthday, and the actor shared a sweet tribute to her that included a rare photo. The soap star noted that Cassidy “doesn’t like to be filmed” and prefers to stay out of the public eye.
“I’m at the zoo with my daughter Cassidy, the one that doesn’t like to be filmed,” Maurice’s message began. “It’s her birthday and she wanted to look at animals with her daddy If an angel fell from the sky her name would be @cassidybenard I love you, baby i’m so lucky to have you in my life I hope you have the greatest birthday in the world @anthony_cammarata.”
The GH veteran also tagged Cassidy’s fiancé, Anthony, who popped the question last year on a trip to Japan. In honor of Cassidy’s birthday last year, Maurice shared a sweet father-daughter video. “I forced her to do this video a while ago and she hates it. That’s why I love her so much,” he admitted. “She really is amazing in every way and she loves her daddy.”

Maurice has been an open book about his family in recent years and has spoken at length about his fatherhood journey. In a 2025 solo episode of his State of Mind podcast, Maurice revealed one of his shortcomings as a father. “Where I think I should have done better is being affectionate,” he said. “This is something in my life that needs to be fixed, and I will fix it.”
Back in March, the actor showed support for his son Joshua’s music career. “My son @jjbenard wrote a song about his ex-girlfriend and was singing it in the park And she just happened to be there. Is it fate?coincidence? I don’t think it matters. I just think it’s amazing,” Maurice wrote on Instagram.
