Troian Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams have a storybook Hollywood romance. After 15 years together, the couple is still going strong, and they welcomed an exciting addition to their family this month.
Adams announced the birth of his and Bellisario’s newest child on Instagram with a sweet photo of the newborn’s hand in his. “Tag. You’re it,” he captioned the post.
Between the years of 2010 and 2018, Bellisario and Adams were busy working on the major hit television shows Pretty Little Liars and Suits, respectively. While they’ve continued to keep busy with their careers, they’ve also stressed the importance of their marriage and family in recent years.

How did Troian Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams meet?
Bellisario and Adams met in 2009 when they were both cast in a play called Equivocation in Los Angeles. “She was cast for the part of my romantic interest,” Adams told HerWorld in 2013. “We met, and that was it.”
As Bellisario revealed in a 2016 Instagram post, the relationship started as “two friends who had shared very little time together.” She recalled that they were both “tired and overworked and just wanted to have some peace and quiet” at that point in their lives. Adams invited her over to his apartment and built them a pillow fort.
“We shut the door to the world outside,” she shared. “We didn’t answer our phones. And over pancakes and movies. Long late night conversations and sleep. we got to know each other a little better. That was the first ‘Fort Day’.”
The two dated long-distance at first while she was working on PLL and he was filming Suits in Canada. They eventually bought their first home together, and Adams proposed on the first “fort day” there in February 2014.
Bellisario and Adams got married on December 10, 2016, in California.
How many kids do Troian Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams have?
Bellisario and Adams are parents to three children. Their first child, daughter Aurora, was born in October 2018. “Everyone is happy and healthy and loving every moment of this,” Adams shared on Instagram. “I could not be more excited to bring a baby girl into this world at this moment. We will raise her to be powerful, to always speak her mind and heart and to live without fear. It’s a brand new day and a brave new world and they are both beautiful.”

Their second daughter, Elliot, was born in May 2021. Bellisario delivered the baby in the hospital parking lot with her husband’s assistance. “I whip around, and by the time I turn my head around, Troian is already [on her] hands and knees … and we’ve gone nuclear,” he shared. “There was no room for panic. You just need to deal with this situation.”
Bellisario and Adams’ third newborn arrived in January 2026, but they have not revealed the little one’s name or gender yet.
The stars are incredibly private about their children and do not share photos of their faces on social media.
Why did Patrick J. Adams leave Suits?
Adams left Suits after seven seasons in 2018. He made the decision so he could spend more time with Bellisario and their growing family.
“After seven seasons — really, eight years of being away from home and away from my now-wife — and there was that pressure,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “At the moment, I’m interested in taking a break. It’s nice to be home. It’s really nice to be with Troian, our dogs and to take the time to figure out exactly what shape I want to take my career after this.”
He returned for a few episodes of the show’s ninth and final season.
Was Troian Bellisario on Suits?
Yes, Bellisario starred as Claire Bowden on two episodes of Suits. She made her first appearance during a Season 4 episode in February 2015, showing up in a flashback scene as a law student and intern who catches Mike Ross’ (Adams) eye.

Later that year, she reprised her role of Claire in a Season 5 episode where she and Mike faced off in the courtroom.
Of joining her partner’s show, Bellisario told People, “I’m usually there kind of hanging around, getting Patrick snacks, so it’s really fun for me to have something to do.”
Was Patrick J. Adams on Pretty Little Liars?
Yes, Adams had a guest-starring role on one episode in Season 1 of Pretty Little Liars. He played a friend of Ezra’s (Ian Harding) who came to town for a visit.
Bellisario revealed on Sophia Bush‘s podcast in January 2025 that she had actually broken up with Adams before he booked the role. “The morning after we broke up, he got the audition for Pretty Little Liars,” she shared. “He knew the casting director, and he prepared the crap out of it and went in and did the audition.”
The actress said that Adams called up his agent and manager at the time to let them know he really wanted the gig. “They’re like, ‘OK, you’re coming in really hot for an ABC Family guest star role,'” she laughed. “They were like, ‘We’re trying to get you on your own show right now.'”
He ended up booking the job and calling Bellisario. “He was like, ‘I know we just broke up, but I’m gonna be at your table read, and I’m gonna be on your set, so we should probably talk or something like that,'” she explained. “We fully talked, which, I think you know what that means, and got back together.” The two never even crossed paths on set or filmed on the same day, but it ended up being the catalyst for them reuniting!
