Matthew Lawrence & Chilli Reveal Who Said ‘I Love You’ First in Our ‘Chemistry Test’ (VIDEO)

We already knew that former Boy Meets World star Matthew Lawrence and TLC‘s Chilli are the ultimate couple, but they proved their connection during Swooon‘s Chemistry Test, which we’re debuting at the top of our 14 Days of Swooon.

Sure, the Second Chance Love hosts didn’t know all the answers to our questions about each other’s careers, but they made up for those gaps, laughing through adorable stories from the early days of their relationship.

During the game, Chilli begrudgingly admitted that she told Lawrence she loved him before he told her. Immediately, Lawrence asked, “Did you really I did? I thought it was kind of a mutual thing.”

“No, it was not,” Chilli responded. “I was mad at myself, too, because I was gonna try my best to hold out.” According to Chilli, she said it while leaving a friend’s house. She recalled, “I was like, ‘Dang it.’ Not like [because I didn’t mean it], but I didn’t want to be the first… I’m just so true to my feelings, it’s hard for me to hold back like that.”

While Lawrence argued that it would only have been an issue if she had said it first and he hadn’t immediately reciprocated, Chilli remembered the moment a little differently. “You were like, smiling and blushing and all of the things, but you didn’t come out and say, I love you too at that time,” she told her boyfriend.

He explained, “Okay, well, I needed a moment to process, but it was reciprocated. I mean, I felt that way. I just was kind of overwhelmed by the whole feeling of it all.” Whether he said it instantly or not, it’s clear that the love was there from the very beginning.
