Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson has made a name for himself on YouTube, becoming a billionaire content creator and businessman, and he’s gained even more attention since launching his Beast Games reality show on Prime Video. After Season 1 dropped last year, MrBeast was named in a lawsuit alleging contestant mistreatment — and his then-girlfriend came to his defense.
When a YouTube user said she should break up with MrBeast, Thea Booysen replied in the comments of a since-deleted video, “There is so much that is not being said, I wish I could talk more about the situation. Half the things that are said are not true. I wouldn’t be with him if they were. It is so important to me to be a good person.”
When Beast Games Season 2 premiered in January 2026, Booysen remained supportive of MrBeast by joining him on the red carpet. So, who is the woman standing by the influencer’s side? Get to know MrBeast’s fiancée below.
Who is Thea Booysen?
Booysten, 28, is a fellow content creator. The Cape Town, South Africa native has over 1 million followers on Instagram, and she found success streaming games on Twitch and YouTube under the account TheaBeasty. As she was establishing her e-sports career, Booysten was working toward a bachelor’s degree in law and an honors degree in psychology from Stellenbosch University.
The same year she received her undergraduate degree in 2022, Booysten published a young adult book called The Marked Children. Two years later, she earned a master’s degree in Human Cognitive Neuropsychology at the University of Edinburgh. Before graduating, she told MyBroadband, “My e-sports career has funded my education, and after my degree in neuroscience, which is almost done, I will be going into experimental neuroscience in my free time. I will be self-funding my own experiment,s so I don’t have to rely on an institution to give me grants or to hire me.”
MrBeast has praised Booysten’s dedication to her studies in the past. “I just need a partner who loves learning [and] just wants to improve,” he said on the Flagrant podcast in 2022. “It’s very hard to find someone like that that’s also very beautiful.”
How did MrBeast and Thea Booysen meet?
Booysen and MrBeast met “by accident.” She explained on the Wide Awake Podcast, “Jimmy was coming down to South Africa with Logan Paul and Casey Neistat and they had a video they wanted to film in Antarctica. Everybody got COVID so they had to cancel the video and stay in South Africa a little bit longer.”
During that time, MrBeast went to dinner with their mutual friend, who invited Booysen to join them. “I really wanted to meet him in person,” she said. “He was super nice, very down to earth, and he started asking me a lot of questions. Little did I know he was going off a list because he was looking for a new girlfriend.”
They talked about neuroscience and Booysen’s book. “The fact that he could keep up with the conversation to me was very attractive because you have to have a certain amount of interest and intellect,” she explained.

How long have MrBeast and Thea Booysen been together?
MrBeast and Booysen started dating in April 2022, shortly after that first meeting. The former sent his future fiancée a DM, and exchanging messages online turned into MrBeast flying back to South Africa to see her again. “He was adamant he wanted to come visit again, and I was keen — I wanted to get to know him better,” she said on the Wide Awake Podcast.
They transitioned from a long-distance relationship to living together in 2024. Booysen was spending half the year in the U.S. and the other half in South Africa due to her tourist visa. In her November 2024 interview with MyBroadband, she confirmed they’d just bought a house and adopted a dog. On Christmas Day, MrBeast proposed.
“In my mind, we’re already married,” Booysen told People. “We’re already on the same page. We talk about children, how we’re going to live together when we’re 70 years old … this was just another step in the process.”
