Luke Combs was slated to be part of a big Super Bowl weekend event, but had to drop out at the last minute to be there for his wife, Nicole Hocking, amid her pregnancy. Combs was part of the lineup for the February 6 Madden Bowl concert in San Francisco, just two days before the big game, but announced on February 4 that he would not be able to make it to the show.
“So sorry to miss y’all at Madden Bowl, but family always comes first. Have a great time,” he shared. In September, Hocking announced her pregnancy, and the pre-Super Bowl concert came right around her due date.

Who is Luke Combs’ wife?
Hocking, who is from Florida, attended Florida Gulf Coast University and was on the swim team. In college, she majored in civil engineering and graduated in 2014. However, the following year, she moved to Nashville, where she began pursuing her dreams of working in the music industry.
Unlike Combs, who is a country music artist, Hocking worked behind-the-scenes at BMI. She was a recruiting and onboarding coordinator for the company’s licensing teams and said she “loved interviewing” prospective employees for her job.
Did Luke Combs meet his wife before he was famous?
Yes, Combs and Hocking met before he even put out his first record. They first met through mutual friends in Nashville, Hocking recalled on the Couple Things podcast in 2020. However, they were both dating other people at the time.
In 2016, they both attended the 30A Songwriters Festival in Florida. At the time, Hocking was working for BMI, and she and Comb were both single. “I was leaving a songwriter’s round, and he was walking up late to it,” she explained. “I was just like, ‘Hey, come hang out with us. Why are you by yourself?'”
Combs remembered that he was wearing “camo shorts from Walmart” and the “oldest T-shirt that [he] owned” at the time. They ended up hanging out that whole night and started “getting to know each other from there” once they were back in Nashville.
After getting engaged in November 2018, they tied the knot at their home in Florida in August 2020.

The pair’s first son, Tex Lawrence Combs, was born on June 19, 2022, followed by another son, Beau Lee Combs, on August 15, 2023. Combs missed the birth of his second son, who arrived two weeks early while the “Beautiful Crazy” singer was on tour in Australia.
On September 23, 2025, Combs and Hocking announced her third pregnancy. “Third time’s a charm! ✨Baby #3 coming this winter 🤍,” they wrote in a joint Instagram post.
