What To Know

  • Tell Me Lies came to an end after three seasons.
  • The series finale brought Evan and Bree’s wedding to a close, but left many questions in the past and present unanswered.
  • Ahead of the final season announcement, Cat Missal and Spencer House revealed what they would have wanted to explore in Season 4.

Tell Me Lies may be over, but we’re still thinking about that crazy friend group from Baird University and what’s next for them. Stephen (Jackson White) practically left Bree (Cat Missal) and Evan’s (Branden Cook) wedding in flames — and later actually left Lucy (Grace Van Patten) at the gas station — while Lucy’s life completely fell apart in the college timeline when she was expelled over her false accusation.

When Swooon spoke with Cat Missal and Spencer House for our series finale feature, we didn’t know that Season 3 would be the final season. Naturally, we asked them what they would have wanted to explore with their characters in Season 4 following that game-changing finale.

“I think it would be interesting to see these people in the next stages of what happens. I mean, a flashback would also be really fun, but I think it would be fun to see them figure out what to do next,” Missal told Swooon. (Obviously, we would have wanted to see Bree and Wrigley’s next steps.)

Bree and Lucy would have had a lot to talk about the next time they saw each other — if they ever did. Back in college, Bree was the one who released the tape of Lucy admitting to falsely accusing Chris (Jacob Rodriguez) of rape. Bree’s shocking decision came after the one-two punch of discovering that Evan cheated on her with Lucy freshman year and essentially getting blackmailed by Oliver (Tom Ellis), Marianne (Gabriella Pession), and, by association, her own mother (Emily Meade).

Would forgiveness be in the cards for Bree and Lucy? “I think Lucy should forgive her. I mean, Lucy’s done some pretty messed-up stuff to her,” Missal said, before adding, “Friendship can be fixed no matter what. You can make it through anything, but should they?”

As for Wrigley, House believed Season 3 had a “great” ending, but he was interested in exploring Wrigley’s dynamic with his parents, and how Wrigley’s relationship with them changed after Drew’s (Benjamin Wadsworth) death. Throughout the three seasons, his parents were never seen in the series.

“I’m not saying that they should make it, but I feel like that’s its own show,” House said. “I feel like that’s just pretty heavy… I would love it.”
