[Warning: The following contains spoilers for Love Is Blind Season 10, Episodes 1-11.]
While most families made their onscreen debut during Episodes 7-9 of Love Is Blind Season 10, viewers had to wait until Episode 10 for the long-awaited meeting between Brianna “Bri” McNees‘ dad and her fiancé, Connor Spies.
Having your Pod Squad connection meet your family is always a major milestone on Love Is Blind, but for Bri, a recent reunion with her pod ex, Chris Fusco, significantly raised the pressure. According to Chris, Bri’s dad is too “legit” to approve of Connor.
“Your dad’s a legit man, who’s been successful in life,” Chris told Bri. “He needs somebody who you’re gonna introduce him to, to be like, ‘Hey, this is my Charles Schwab account. This is what I’m doing. This is what’s going on in life. This is where my projections are [in] one to three years.’ That’s what you need.”
So who exactly is Bri’s “legit” dad, and why didn’t we see Bri’s family visit? Swooon‘s breaking down everything you need to know about Bri’s family, their day with Connor, and more.
Who is Brianna McNees’ dad?
Bri’s dad is Gerard McNees. According to Bri, her dad is generally referred to as G-Man in their family, but for Connor, at least right now, he is strictly Mr. McNees. She explained, “I just don’t bring guys around a lot. So I don’t know how this is gonna go with my dad.”
According to G-Man’s LinkedIn profile, he has worked as a Sales Engineer at Paragon D&E for over 25 years. Looking at Chris’s comments back in Ohio, it appears that he could have been referring to her dad being successful in one position for so long.
Who else was part of Bri’s family visit?
Aside from Bri’s dad, Gerard, and two of her aunts, we do not know who Connor met during Bri’s family visit. What we do know is that the duo traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan, stopping in Ann Arbor along the way. There, the two got to cut a cake at Bri’s cousin’s house, with two women encouraging them to put the cake in each other’s mouths and then kiss.
When Connor told Bri, “You’ve gotta show the rest of the fam,” the footage cut to pictures of Bri and Connor with her dad. If you ask us, this is either because a family member who did not sign a release to be on camera was in the footage, or the clip was simply cut for time.
Why wasn’t Bri’s family visit filmed?
This season, many short clips filmed by the Pod Squad have been shown, capturing moments when the camera crew was not present. Most notably, this was seen during Vic St. John and Christine Hamilton’s alternate getaway to Malibu. It’s likely, given the high number of couples followed this season, that the camera crew could not travel with Bri and Connor to Michigan from Ohio for the visit.
Later in Episode 10, Bri’s mom, Jami, attended her wedding dress fitting alongside Connor’s mom, Karen. As Bri put it, “It’s so fun to have moms meet. And it’s beyond just picking out my wedding dress. It’s also just another step within the process of joining our families together.
Did Bri’s dad approve of Connor?
Seeing as both Bri’s mom and Connor’s mom were able to meet after Connor got to know her family, it’s safe to say Bri’s dad approved of Connor. At her wedding dress fitting, Bri told viewers, “There were some tough questions asked of Connor by my aunts, and my dad, and everybody because I know they love me and want what’s best. It was great seeing them interact. They all love him.”
Ahead of meeting Bri’s family, Connor told the rest of the Pod Squad, “I think we’ll get along? I’m just a normal, blue-collar dude. Like, I work for a dumpster rental company. If Bri has confidence in somebody, that’s the utmost confidence.” Sorry, Chris, it looks like Connor was right about this one!
