Taylor Frankie Paul is starring on Season 4 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and Season 22 of The Bachelorette in tandem this spring, and a trailer for Mormon Wives left fans questioning where things stood in her relationship with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen when she left to film the ABC dating show in October 2025.
The trailer ends with Paul dealing with a pregnancy scare and another cast member wondering, “Is she about to be the first pregnant Bachelorette?” Since Paul and Mortensen’s relationship was on-and-off from 2022 to 2025, this sparked concern about whether or not she’d even moved on from him when she started dating 22 other men last fall.

No, Paul is not pregnant and was not pregnant when she filmed The Bachelorette. “Do I look pregnant?” she pointed out. “Just look at me and make your observation there. That’s all I’ve got to say.”
Paul already shares one child, son Ever, with Mortensen. He was born in March 2024. She also has a daughter, Indy, born in 2017, and son, Ocean, born in 2020, with ex-husband Tate Paul.

Paul confirmed in the Us Weekly interview that she and Mortensen started hooking up again before The Bachelorette. “I think it was just still in the same cycle that I’ve been in for a while now, and it’s been really hard to get out,” she admitted. “It’s been so hard to remove myself from that.”

She said she made a “choice” to move on from her ex by going through with the dating show. “I made the decision to leave for two months and try,” Paul explained. “I reassured [the men] that was why I was here.”
Paul also owned up to her part in the toxicity of the exes’ relationship, adding, “It takes two to tango. We were just not progressing. We like each other sometimes, and then we fight. It’s really hard to explain to people and unless you’ve been in that situation, it is hard to understand. If I could just snap out of it, trust me, I would. It’s just a lot harder said than done.”
Does Taylor Frankie Paul want more kids?
Yes, Paul said she would be open to having more kids, but made it clear that she wants to have her next child with the person that she’s going to end up with.
“I would be open to stepkids and yes, I want more kids myself,” she said. “But I want them with my person I want to be with forever.”
