Season 4 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives follows Taylor Frankie Paul as she gears up for her stint on The Bachelorette. Filming took place a year after her breakup with Dakota Mortensen, and right after the explosive revelation that he’d been involved with a family friend.

Taylor then made headlines after sharing a now-deleted Instagram photo of a man holding a guitar — widely speculated by fans to be songwriter Ben Lambert. Although his face wasn’t shown, many saw it as Taylor “soft-launching” a new romance post-Dakota.

As usual, Taylor’s love life proves to be quite messy on the latest season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Ben pops up in Utah to visit Taylor and even meets the rest of the crew. In a practice rose ceremony, Taylor gives him the flower, and the two kiss passionately. So, what happens with Ben in Season 4? Swooon has all the details about Taylor’s early “crush.”

Who is Ben Lambert?

Ben Lambert is a singer and songwriter (@lambsingsong on TikTok). Not much is known about him for the rest, except that he and Taylor follow each other on TikTok. (More on that below.)

He has an EP on Spotify called Two Pints (On Me) with two songs, which came out this year.

Ben was a program manager, but got fired right before meeting Taylor – something which had the Mormon wifeys suspicious of his intentions.

How did Taylor and Ben meet?

While appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast to announce her Bachelorette news, Taylor spilled on the situation. Apparently, it all happened on TikTok Live.

“He was singing and playing guitar,” Taylor shared. “It was, like, new to him, too. I was like, ‘This guy’s got a voice!’ I’ve never, one, sat and watched a TikTok Live, really, nor do I write on them. But I was the one who was like, ‘You have a really good voice, can you play this song?'”

After Taylor popped into the comments section, the mystery man asked where she was from, and when she told him, he revealed that his ex-girlfriend used to watch The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Taylor played it cool and only said she “made an appearance” on the Hulu series once. “I’m literally just teasing him,” she laughed. “Then he ended up looking me up after the fact.”

She confirmed this story in the first episode of Season 4 when telling Jessi Ngatikaura about her “crush.” She said they simply kept messaging afterwards.

Talk about a meet-cute.

What happened between Ben and Taylor?

Ben ended up visiting Taylor in Utah twice, which we see in Season 4. He even met the rest of MomTok!

She warned him that she was about to be on The Bachelorette, which he was “cool” with because there were “no feelings” between them yet.

“The next time he came, I was like, ‘Would you ever come on it?’ And he’s like, ‘I don’t really want to date on reality TV,'” she added. “He’s like a good soul. All my friends are like, ‘Green flag, green flag!’ The fact that he didn’t hop onto that. He’s like, ‘Go do your thing. If you meet someone, we weren’t meant to be, and if not, maybe I’ll be here.’”

Sounds like sparks were flying! Taylor said she posted the now-deleted photo to “confuse people” and pointed out that she does things like that “all the time” because it’s “fun” and “entertaining.” She added, “I guess I didn’t think that one too much through. I could understand how this looks, but to be honest, I’m going to be honest, I’ve met him twice. Likable guy, he’s great. Are we official? No. I don’t know the guy. Nothing along the lines of a soft-launch. I don’t know him.”

So, while Ben was a new character in Season 4, he didn’t become a main character by any means.
