Willie Robertson and Korie Robertson have been married for 34 years (they celebrated their wedding anniversary on January 11), and their relationship is stronger than ever. The Duck Dynasty stars have since welcomed six children and 11 grandchildren, and are hopeful that their long-lasting marriage can positively influence the next generation.

In an exclusive interview with Swooon, Willie opened up about what he wants his kids to learn from his relationship with their mother.

“I hope they see that Korie and I have fun together,” Willie said. “We still love being around each other, and hopefully they can see that. We all live in the same area, the same property, so when they come over, they see that our marriage can be fun and we spread joy to each other.”

The reality star pointed out that he and Korie are able to “work together” professionally, but still maintain a healthy relationship. “We work together on tons of projects and business and all these things, but you can still have a great relationship and work through those things together,” he added. “Which makes it special.”

While Willie admitted that it’s not always “easy” and that “the thought of some people working with their spouse would seem like a nightmare,” for him and Korie, “it works.”

Willie continued, “We grew up like that. So hopefully they can pull those things and realize what’s most important to us is our faith. We constantly have to remind ourselves of that because we still go by the principle that faith is first and then family. We try to keep those in that order. Family’s very important, but our faith is kind of the anchor that kind of always holds it together.”

For their anniversary in January, Willie and Korie stayed in their hometown, which they admitted is “rare” for them. “We’re normally out of town every weekend,” Willie explained. The anniversary consisted of dinner, a night at the river house, and a hunting trip.

“That was fun,” Korie confirmed. “Just to be out in nature.”
