The day before the Season 1 premiere of Age of Attraction, Logan Goodrid told Swooon, “I think I wouldn’t say I’m nervous for tomorrow, I’m probably a little more nervous for two weeks from now…”
On March 25, the season finale of Age of Attraction revealed the franchise’s first engaged couple: 49-year-old Vanessa Drozda and 29-year-old Logan. Before committing to Vanessa in the promise room, Logan told viewers, “I’ve dated older, but it’s never been something serious.” Now, he can’t imagine a life without a woman 20 years his senior.
On commitment day, Logan told Vanessa that their journey had been “difficult” before asking her to give her promise ring back, leading Vanessa to believe that he was breaking up with her, before he proposed. He told her, “During my alone time, I’ve also realized that maybe I don’t have to be the perfect man. Maybe I just need to be the guy that was there for you throughout all the good times, highs, and lows.”
When asked about his fake out, Logan confessed to Swooon, “I didn’t see the edit, so I don’t know what that looked like.” Trust us, Logan, it looked like you were ready to call it quits. After switching out her promise ring for an engagement ring, Vanessa even told him, “You tricked me so bad.”
Neither Logan nor Vanessa knew they would leave the show engaged, but Logan told Swooon that, by the end of the experiment, “I knew that I wasn’t leaving Canada without Vanessa.” That being said, Vanessa had roots in Ohio, and Logan had roots in Texas, so they didn’t know what committing really meant for them as a couple.

According to Logan, he “had been kicking the idea [of proposing] around” for quite some time, but he recalled thinking, “Man, it’s a little crazy. I wasn’t ready to propose to somebody that I hadn’t known five weeks prior, right?” While the idea of getting down on one knee was “a little daunting, to say the least,” he explained, “I’m a go big or go home kinda guy.” Ultimately, he decided, “Let’s just blow the roof off this thing and give this girl her fifth ring.”
Vanessa, who revealed earlier in the season that she had been proposed to four times throughout her life, definitely did not see her fifth proposal coming. “Going into that day, I was super nervous.” While she knew that she was ready to commit and that he had feelings for her, she explained, “I just didn’t know what he was going to do that day.”
When Logan told Vanessa to take off her promise ring, she “started to spiral.” Talking with Swooon, she remembered staring off into the horizon thinking, “Did I really choose wrong? Should I have listened to everybody?” But then, he got down on one knee. “So then he tricked me again,” she explained. “He surprised me, and I was just really super happy.”
