Will ‘XO, Kitty’ Return For Season 4? Everything We Know So Far

Anna Cathcart as Kitty Song Covey, Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho Moon in 'XO, Kitty' Season 3
Netflix

Unlike last time around, XO, Kitty elects not to leave viewers hanging (very much) at the end of Season 3. The Netflix series, created by Jenny Han, gives new couple Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) and Kitty (Anna Cathcart) plenty of ups and downs to deal with. (Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for XO, Kitty Seasons 3.)

In the Season 3 finale, Min Ho and Kitty find their way back to each other after their mid-season breakup, though neither is completely sure about their future. But after a whole season of desperately trying to stick to a plan, Kitty is ready to embrace the unknown. Even if she isn’t sure what her relationship with Min Ho will look like after graduation, she decides that love is worth the risk.

The committed couple is on their way to visit Kitty’s hometown in the final moments of the finale, but will fans actually see Min Ho meet Kitty’s dad in Season 4? Kitty may be rocking with the unknown, but we sure aren’t! We’re breaking down everything Netflix has revealed so far about XO, Kitty‘s Season 4 renewal status.

Has XO, Kitty been renewed for Season 4?

Kitty still has one semester left at KISS, but Netflix still hasn’t shared if fans will get to see her graduate in Season 4. Don’t abandon all hope, though. Historically, XO, Kitty has announced its renewal status about a month after dropping its current season.

In an interview with Swooon, showrunner Valentina Garza was tight-lipped about any plans for Kitty and Min Ho’s future. Could we expect a longer stretch of Mooncovey acting as a unit, rather than being driven apart in a potential Season 4? “Well, I know that the audience wants to see that, and I’m so grateful that our audience is really invested in these characters that are so incredibly rich,” Garza answered diplomatically. “And I think we’re just going to have to wait and see what happens with them.” (It was worth a shot, right?)

When would XO, Kitty Season 4 premiere?

Say XO, Kitty does get greenlit — when would we get our hands on more episodes? After Season 1 premiered in May 2023, Season 2 didn’t arrive until January 2025. However, the turnaround time for Season 3 was much faster. It filmed during the summer of 2025 and dropped on April 2 the following year. If Netflix orders Season 4 relatively soon, we’d expect a spring 2027 drop. But that’s merely a guess!

Which cast members would return for XO, Kitty Season 4?

Again, this is all hypothetical, but it seems likely Cathcart and Lee would reprise their roles. We’d also expect the rest of Kitty’s classmates to be in attendance for graduation: Choi Min-young (Dae), Gia Kim (Yuri), Anthony Keyvan (Q), Regan Aliyah (Juliana), Joshua Lee (Jin), Sasha Bhasin (Praveena), Sule Thelwell (Marius), Jocelyn Shelfo (Madison), Han Bi Ryu (Eunice), and Sunny Oh (Mihee).

As for the adults, it would make sense for Michael K. Lee (Professor Lee), Hojo Shin (Jiwon), and Peter Thurnwald (Alex) to reprise their roles. Min Ho isn’t in a good spot with his dad by the end of Season 3, but there could be more ground to cover with Mr. Moon, played by Philippe Lee.

The big question, which we have ahead of every season of XO, Kitty, is which To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before alums will show up in the spinoff. Kitty is flying home to see her dad in the Season 3 finale, so will John Corbett make an appearance as Dan Covey? What about Sarayu Blue, who plays his second wife, Trina? We’re also curious if Kitty’s eldest sister, Margo (Janel Parrish), will return after her Season 2 cameo.

Kitty’s sister, Lara Jean (Lana Condor), finally gets involved in the story in Season 3. Condor and her boyfriend, Peter (Noah Centineo), hit a rough patch in Season 3, but recommit to making their relationship work by the finale. Centineo appears briefly in XO, Kitty Season 2, but his character remains off-screen for all of Season 3. We’ll have to wait and see if Condor and Centineo reunite in a potential Season 4. (Condor’s involvement in Season 3 wasn’t revealed until fairly close to the premiere, so we expect the show will follow suit if it’s renewed for Season 4.)

Only time will tell, but Kitty’s graduation would be the perfect occasion for them all to share the screen again, wouldn’t it? Let us know your Season 4 predictions in the comments below!
