Another season of Netflix’s Temptation Island is here, and several tempters made a more significant impression than others. When Shyanne Blankenship and the other women were separated from their partners and put into a villa with a dozen single men, she became closest to Preston Viltz. He became one of the standout singles as the season went on, going on several dates with Shyanne and serving as a shoulder to lean on during the process.
What’s more, Temptation Island isn’t Preston’s first stint on reality TV. He competed on another Netflix series. It’s very different kind of reality show, but Netflix viewers might’ve recognized him nonetheless. Who is Preston Viltz from Temptation Island Season 2?
Preston, 26, lives in Los Angeles, but he’s from Washington. He played college baseball for the University of Washington, from his freshman year in 2020 until he graduated in 2022, according to his stats page. He comes from a baseball-focused family: His dad works for the Seattle Mariners, and his uncle played in the Minor League.
As for Preston’s reality TV experience, he was player 158 on Squid Game: The Challenge Season 1, which aired in 2023. “Unfortunately, I couldn’t bring home the money, but top 30 ain’t too shabby,” he wrote on Instagram upon his elimination. “For all my friends and family who have watched, sent messages, or shown love I appreciate you all. I made friendships that will last a lifetime and an experience I will never forget!”
What does Preston do for a living?
Preston told Tudum that he’s a sports tech entrepreneur, and per his Instagram, he’s a fitness coach and business owner. He made that AI joke in his Temptation Island intro because he’s the founder of NextCommit, a platform that uses AI to automate conversations with college coaches.
Do Shyanne and Preston end up together on Temptation Island Season 2?
Shyanne arrived to the island with her boyfriend of five years, Jack. At the start, Shyanne struggled with getting to know the guys, even on a platonic level. However, Preston offered Shyanne a listening ear after a bonfire revealed that Jack was getting close to a temptress. During one of their dates, Shyanne said that Preston got her out of her shell more than anyone else, predicting that he would become her “person” in the villa.
That became true a short while later. Shyanne’s reservations fell away after finding out that Jack cheated on her with temptress Carter Erin at the end of Episode 4. She decided not to fight for someone who wasn’t fighting for her, and she started to focus on her connection with Preston. After the cheating bombshell dropped, Shyanne took Preston to the Temptation Haven tent.

“He reminds me of all of my friends back home, and he just makes me feel like I can be myself around him, and I don’t have to put on a show,” Shyanne said in an Episode 5 confessional. “He’s just a vibe. He’s just fun. And he’s cute or whatever… I have no idea what the future is with Preston. I think he’s great, and I think we have a great connection, but I don’t know what’s going to come out of this. Because I’ve only been single for 24 hours.”
Shyanne continued to get to know Preston on dates, and their conversations turned more serious. “He started off as just the easiest guy to talk to in the house, and I don’t know, it turned into something crazy overnight,” she explained. Later, during a massage date, Preston said, “I’m excited to see where this goes, inside of here and potentially outside of here, so I think we’ll take a step in the right direction each and every day, and I hope we can continue to build on it.”
When the final bonfire arrived, Shyanne told Jack that she would leave single. “As much as I did make a connection and [Preston] did truly show me what I deserve in a person and made me know my worth throughout all of this, we’ve been together for five years, and we’ve spent every single second together, and it’s time to focus on myself, and I’m gonna be leaving the island alone.” Whether Shyanne and Preston saw each other outside of Temptation Island remains to be revealed.
