What To Know

  • Kaya Scodelario and Luca Pasqualino, who played Effy and Freddie on Skins, recently reunited and shared a sweet photo together.
  • The stars of the British teen drama have remained close over the years.
  • Pasqualino is currently starring in the second season of Criminal Record and will be returning for Rivals Season 2.

Someone call up our younger selves because Freddie McClair (Luca Pasqualino) and Effy Stonem (Kaya Scodelario) have reunited! More than 15 years after they graced our screens in the hit British coming-of-age drama series Skins, the two actors recently had a special get-together.

On April 22, Scodelario blessed Skins fans everywhere with visual proof of their reunion. While Freddie and Effie didn’t get a happy ending (IYKYK) in the show, Scodelario and Pasqualino are still close all these years later.

The former costars were seated next to each other at a dinner and posed for a sweet photo together. “Freffy 4 Ever @lucapasqualino,” the actress wrote over the picture.

For those of us who tuned into Skins, Freddie and Effy were very important. They had the ultimate on-again, off-again vibe going on, and let’s not forget that iconic love confession at the lake. Their relationship came to a shocking and tragic end when Freddie was murdered by Effy’s obsessed psychiatrist.

Both Scodelario and Pasqualino are both busier than ever lately. Scodelario has been filming Netflix’s The Gentlemen, which will return for Season 2. Pasqualino is starring in the second season of the Apple TV+ series Criminal Record, which is out now. He will also be reprising his role as Bas Baddingham in Rivals Season 2, which will premiere on May 15.

Seriously, someone get Scodelario on Rivals as soon as possible. Let us see our Effy and Freddie (in the world of Rivals) onscreen again.

In 2024, Scodelario opened up about still staying in touch with her Skins costars after so many years. “We’re like a little crew,” she told The Cut. “We joke that we’re trauma-bonded together from our teenage years. Now, we’re having kids and exploring that part of our friendships and helping one another. I was the first to have kids, so now their kids have got my hand-me-downs.”
