Susan Walters and Linden Ashby are one of the soap world’s most beloved real-life couples. The actors met on the set of Loving in the 1980s, and they’ve been together ever since.
Amid their busy schedules, Walters and Ashby celebrated an important moment in their marriage. Walters shared the notable milestone with their friends, family, and fans, which led to widespread love from their community.
The Young and the Restless stars have officially been married for 40 years! Walters shared a photo from her anniversary getaway with her husband. “40,” she captioned the Instagram photo, along with a smattering of emojis. The couple cuddled close near a cliff as they spent a sunny day together on the Central Coast of California.
Many of their Y&R costars, including Michelle Stafford, Tracey Bregman, and Beth Maitland, congratulated the couple in the comments. Holland Roden, Walters’ onscreen daughter on Teen Wolf (which Ashby also starred in), showed her love for the pair as well.
The Mortal Kombat alum shared similar photos from their trip and wrote, “Montaña de Oro. We camped in a BEAUTIFUL place, rode bikes, played rummy, laughed a lot, cooked over the fire, froze in the middle of the night, laughed some more… and had a great anniversary!! I’m a lucky lucky man.”

He also posted a video of their biking excursion on the anniversary trip and penned a loving message to his wife. “Forty years ago we said I do,” he began. “And forty years later she drags me up to the top of a beautiful mountain and chases me to the ocean. There’s probably an analogy in there somewhere. Lol. All I can say is that I love her more today than I did that day in that church all those years ago and I didn’t think that was possible. I got lucky. I got really really lucky. And her sound going around that final corner!!! Hahahahahaa One of the many reasons I love her as much as I do.”

The acting pair married in 1986 and have welcomed two daughters. Walters and Ashby have worked on a number of shows together, most recently The Young and the Restless. Walters joined the soap in 2001 as Diane Jenkins, while Ashby first stepped into the role of Cameron Kirsten in 2003. When Ashby reprised the role of Cameron in 2024, he was thrilled to be able to spend even more time with his wife.
“Any time I get to carpool with [wife] Susan, it’s a good day. She’s so helpful and I’m lucky I have a built-in acting partner,” he told TV Insider.
