Which ‘Bridgerton’ Couple Has the Best Dance Scenes? (POLL)
What To Know
- Each Bridgerton couple features memorable and emotionally significant dance scenes that mark key moments in their love stories.
- Simon and Daphne, Anthony and Kate, Colin and Penelope, and Benedict and Sophie each have unique dance moments that reflect their relationship dynamics.
Bridgerton knows the effect of a romantic dance scene. Though the Regency drama has offered four very different love stories so far, they all have at least one thing in common: a pivotal moment that takes place at a ball, usually while the couple is in the middle of the dance floor. Since we’re currently in the Bridgerton off-season, we want to know which couple you think delivered the greatest dance scenes.
Dancing is a key part of Simon (Regé-Jean Page) and Daphne’s (Phoebe Dynevor) initially fake courtship in Season 1. Sparks literally fly in the background of their Vauxhall Gardens dance at the end of Episode 1. They certainly succeed at appearing madly in love. They have a more light-hearted, smiley dance at Episode 2’s ball, and they take another spin at the end of the episode, when they agree to call each other by their first names. Though the dancing portion is brief, Simon and Daphne’s most moving moment arrives at their own outdoor ball in the finale episode. Rain starts to pour before they emotionally reconcile.
In Season 2, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley) prove to have some stellar moves of their own, though they dance together less often. By Episode 4’s first dance, it’s obvious that their walls are coming down. Set to a classical rendition of “Dancing On My Own,” Anthony and Kate may have been “forced” into the dance by Kate’s sister, but the lust in their eyes doesn’t lie. Then, in the finale, Kate asks Anthony to dance when she’s finally ready to be with him. As everyone stares, Anthony assures her that “no one else matters.” Swoon!
Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) get started early. Who can forget where it all started, in the first episode of Season 1? Cressida (Jessica Madsen) tosses her drink on Penelope’s dress, so Colin whisks Penelope away to dance. They get plenty of memorable dance moments when their romance plays out in Season 3, including when a jealous Colin swoops in and starts dancing with Penelope. They’re also the only couple to get a wedding dance, even when they’re at odds over Lady Whistledown. After Penelope reveals her secret identity to the ton, she shares a happy dance with Colin at the finale episode’s ball.
Last but not least, one couple’s romance starts with a very different sort of dance. At Season 4’s masquerade, Benedict (Luke Thompson) takes Sophie (Yerin Ha) out of Bridgerton House and onto a private terrace, where he gives her a sweet dance lesson. She puts his teachings to use at the ball in the finale episode, after they’ve figured out a way to be together. In front of the ton, they dance at the Queen’s Ball, engaged and deliriously happy. It’s a fitting end to such an angsty journey.
So, now that the recap is out of the way, it’s time for you to weigh in. Tell us which couple has the best dance scenes overall in the poll below!
