On the day of the finale, May 27, Marissa revealed to People that she reunited with her ex, D. Johnson, shortly after she split from Demari, leading to an elopement soon after.

Marissa married D. Johnson, a 34-year-old whom she had previously dated 13 years ago. Looking back to their 2013 relationship, she told People, “We were young and lived states away from each other, so the distance just didn’t work at the time.” Now, the stars have aligned for the couple.
She continued, “Over the last 13 years, we somehow always found our way back to each other. Anytime we were both single, we’d reconnect, and it was always clear the feelings never really left. Even our mutual friends would always say, ‘If the timing ever works out, they’re going to end up together.'” Talk about a second-chance romance!
When did Marissa George and D. Johnson start dating?
After their first relationship 13 years ago, Marissa and D. reconnected in November 2025, the same month that filming wrapped on Perfect Match. For anyone worried about the timeline, don’t stress! Marissa and Demari had already decided they were better off as friends when they left the house.
Of D., Marissa told People, “Eventually, after years spent being each other’s ‘what if,’ we got to a point where we were like, ‘Screw the distance, this is worth it.'”

Marissa and D. Johnson got engaged on February 21, 2026, three months after they started dating again. A month later to the day, they eloped on March 21. People shared, “They married in a small elopement ceremony with their parents, siblings and closest friends in Savannah, Georgia.”
Marissa told People, “The day I said ‘I do,’ I felt this immense responsibility in the most beautiful way. Not pressure, but clarity. Like, this is serious. This is real partnership. I can’t play games and I don’t want to. It’s not that I didn’t take past relationships seriously, but I honestly don’t think I fully understood what a healthy love was supposed to feel like until now. And once you experience a love that feels peaceful, grounding, safe, and freeing all at once, it completely changes you.”
