Shep Rose is Southern Charm‘s forever bachelor, but there was a time when it seemed like he might just settle down. In 2020, Shep began dating Taylor Ann Green, and their relationship was heavily documented on Seasons 7 and 8 of the show, followed by their breakup in Season 9. Shep’s infidelity was the reason for their split.
However, on July 1, 2026, Shep said that taking the hallucinogenic drug Ayahuasca inspired him to reconnect with Taylor. “‘Why do you want more? Don’t you have everything? It’s all here, its’s all inside of you.’ And I went through this spiral,” he recalled thinking to himself, per SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio. “[Taylor] loved me so much and she cared about me so much, and I took it for granted and I care about her and her family very much.”
After their split in 2022, Taylor moved on with Gaston Rojas, and they were together for about three years before Taylor announced they had broken up in May 2026. When Taylor became single again, fans started buzzing about the possibility that she and Shep could get back together, and now, Shep’s new comments about the state of their relationship is making headlines.

Are Shep Rose and Taylor Ann Green back together?
During his July 1 podcast appearance, Shep said of Taylor, “She’s a little bit back in my life, and I’m just very pleased about that.”
However, it seems Shep and Taylor are only repairing their friendship at the moment. While addressing the romance rumors on the June 2 episode of The Viall Files podcast, Taylor said, “That is not true. Even if I wanted to hook up with Shep again or get back together, I would hope I have a little bit more respect for myself to go from one cheating ex to the other.”
Despite the shade, Taylor called her ex a “logical human being” and said he would realize that their getting back together isn’t the “right thing” to do. “He cares about me as a human being and has always cared about me very deeply,” she insisted. “Even in my time of, you know, kind of throwing him under the bus and giving him a lot of s**t.”
Taylor, who left Southern Charm after Season 10, gave Shep a shout-out for “always [being] there” for her and said he’s supported her following the Gaston breakup.
“I did reach out to him after the breakup, and he was kind of beside himself, to be honest,” Taylor admitted. “He was like, ‘I cannot believe that you are sitting right here in front of me. I cannot believe that you reached out, I care about you, I think about you all the time.’”
How did Shep Rose and Taylor Ann Green meet?
Shep and Taylor met in 2020. He spoke about their origin story on an episode of Southern Charm. “I was on Sullivan’s Island, and there were two girls at Home Team’s,” he shared, referencing a local bar. “I was like, ‘Who the hell is that?’ Taylor lied and told me she was a marine biologist and her specialty was shark sex. And then I sort of grilled her because I sort of know about shark sex.”
Following the initial meeting, the two “started seeing each other a little bit,” and things eventually “became more serious.” Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple started living together just months into their relationship.

Shep and Taylor went through a lot of ups and downs throughout the course of their relationship and ultimately split because he wasn’t ready to settle down and commit to being with one person.
At the Season 7 reunion in 2021, he admitted to kissing another woman while they were together, but Taylor chose to give the relationship another shot. When the two began having conversations about getting married and starting a family during Season 8, Shep was hesitant and, to discuss the future, said they’d “cross that bridge when we come to it.”
Later that season, gossip sites revealed that Shep’s dating profile on Raya was still active, and he put off deleting it, insisting that he wasn’t actively using the site at the time, which Taylor accepted. The former couple ended Season 8 by heading off on an international trip together after Taylor quit her job at Shep’s insistence.
At the Season 8 reunion, Taylor accused Shep of using her, tearfully claiming, “He’s f**ked allegedly over 300 whores. Like, I was the whore that stuck around for long enough.”
