Nick (Matthew Broome) and Noah’s (Asha Banks) journey is far from over — in movie and book form. If you’ve already devoured Your Fault: London, rest assured that the third installment in the franchise has already been filmed. But that’s not the only thing to look forward to: Author Mercedes Ron surprised fans with a fourth book in her Culpables series, which the movies are based on.
In 2018, Ron originally wrapped Culpables as a trilogy, which was turned into a megahit Spanish-language movie trilogy at Prime Video. Just days ahead of the English sequel’s release, Ron published Culpa Veustra, which explores “what comes after the ‘happily ever after.'” Though Prime Video subscribers still have yet to see Our Fault: London, Swooon had to ask Asha Banks and Matthew Broome if they’d be willing to reprise their roles in a potential My Fault 4.
Despite leading the English movies — Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara led the original Spanish ones — Banks and Broome were just as surprised about Culpa Veustra as fans were. “Oh my goodness, it’s so crazy,” Banks told Swooon. “I mean, I saw Nicole say that she didn’t even know that it was happening, and neither did we, but we were like, ‘Oh my god.’ We saw it on Instagram, and we were like, ‘Oh my god.’ I saw Nicole was like, ‘Oh my god.'”
First things first, Banks and Broome still have to read Ron’s latest book, which hasn’t yet announced a publication date for its English translation. “I mean, it’s so much fun,” Banks continued. “I’m excited to see what happens.”
“I’m excited to read it,” Broome added. (Warning: Spoilers ahead for Ron’s Our Fault!)
The fourth book picks up after the arrival of Nick and Noah’s baby, Andy. Though parenthood has brought about infinite love, it’s also caused cracks to form in their relationship. “While Noah struggles to recognize herself in the mirror, Nick discovers that fatherhood doesn’t just awaken tenderness — it also opens the door to the ghosts of the past, the ones he has spent years trying to escape,” says the book’s description. When an accusation causes their life to implode, Nick and Noah draw away from each other and build up walls.
When it comes to reopening Nick and Noah’s story on screen, Banks and Broome didn’t give a definitive answer. “Depends how much we miss each other,” Banks quipped with a laugh.
