‘Your Fault: London’ Stars Talk Creating That Sexy ‘You’re Mine’ Scene (VIDEO)
What To Know
- Actors Asha Banks and Matthew Broome helped write Your Fault: London’s pivotal jealousy confrontation scene.
- The emotionally charged “You’re mine” scene was a collaborative effort with the directors.
- Banks and Broome tell Swooon about infusing their personal flair into the film.
Nick (Matthew Broome) and Noah (Asha Banks) have a jealousy problem in Your Fault: London. It rears its ugly head about halfway through the Prime Video movie, when the couple argues, and they finally fess up to their insecurities. The lead actors didn’t just play out that heated exchange — they helped write it. (Warning: Spoilers ahead for Your Fault: London.)
When Nick sees a photo of Noah looking cozy with Michael (Joel Nankervis), he retaliates by spending time alone with his business partner, Sophia (Louisa Binder). When Noah finds out that Nick lied about how he spent his evening — and who he spent it with — they go back to Nick’s apartment to hash it out.
Noah is the first to admit that she’s jealous of Sophia, and Nick reluctantly admits he feels threatened by Michael. “I know I don’t own you, but you’re still mine,” Nick says.
“You’re mine,” Nick reiterates when Noah asks him to.

It’s one of the standout scenes of the film, which Broome and Banks told Swooon was a very collaborative effort between the actors and directors Charlotte Fassler and Dani Girdwood. The latter two wrote the “You’re mine” bit, but Banks and Broome contributed to the build-up.
“Coming into it, the team allowed us to have that freedom with our version of Nick and Noah and wanted us to kind of dive deeper,” Banks said.
“I think it started from a place of, like, if we could just say everything, what would you say?” Broome added. “And then we sort of whittled it down a little bit, and then Dani and Charlotte were just open to seeing that, and we just went [typewriter sound] and sent it in, and they were like…”
“They were like, ‘This is great. Let’s shoot it,'” Banks laughed, finishing her costar’s sentence. “And we were like, ‘OK. Oh my god.'”
She remarked on how lucky they were to work with a team so receptive to their ideas. “Because as an actor, it’s a dream to be able to act with exactly how you feel like your character would react,” Banks explained. “I think you can kind of see it in the scene because it feels so truthful for both of us.”
The duo agreed that they’re both opinionated as actors through the eyes of their characters, which manifested in the exchange in Nick’s apartment. “It’s like one of the real debates that Asha and Matt have as Nick and Noah on set when we’re defending our characters,” Banks said.
It wasn’t the only moment of the film that the actors got to put their stamp on, either. “It was very much like, we had the wonderful script, and then we’re kind of allowed to add our flavors to different bits and bobs in different scenes,” Banks said. “I mean, there are so many lines that made the film are definitely like improv from Matt on the day that I’m like, ‘That’s Matt saying that.'”
