Hannah Brown has been in a relationship with Adam Woolard since 2021, but she recently confessed that she almost ended their romance before they tied the knot in June 2025.

While appearing on the Kissing Frogs podcast, Brown pointed out that she hasn’t “really talked about” this before. She explained why she almost pulled the plug on her relationship with her now-husband.

“Getting engaged was really scary for me,” Brown admitted. “I was so anxious. Before I was like, ‘Yeah, we’re probably gonna get married, but I don’t have a timeline.’ Just kind of being like … whatever!”

During the engagement, Brown felt that marriage was “theoretically” a great idea, but “when it came around, I was so scared.” She also admittedly felt like she didn’t know Woolard “fully,” which added to her fears.

“After we got engaged, we had a really hard season of, like, things are gonna have to change,” Brown continued. “Because we’ve both been very avoidant, there were so many things that we just let slide under the rug. We never had a fight. We had never fought, and that’s typically … if you’re never having arguments, [it’s] not a red flag, but something you should explore.”

Now, she and Woolard have “healthy arguments,” which they “didn’t know how” to do before.

Overall, Brown said she was a “mess” during the time she was engaged to Woolard. “The anxiety was constant,” she shared. “I couldn’t think of anything else. ‘What if I get into this, what if it all changes, what if this doesn’t happen? There’s all these things we need to work on, what if we never get better?'”

Brown added that her anxiety didn’t go away until she and Woolard actually got married. “Anybody listening who’s in an engagement and is like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is not the way I thought I was gonna feel, I’m freaking out, I wanna go, I wanna escape,’ I almost did. I almost did that. But once I got married … it doesn’t mean that there’s still things we have to work on. There’s that. But it was that in-between commitment jump thing, for me, that drove me crazy.”
