‘Love Island USA’: Does Kayda Know the Real Reason Alannah Left the Show?

What To Know

  • Alannah Keyser was removed from Love Island USA after a video surfaced of her singing a song with a racial slur.
  • Alannah entered as a Casa Amor contestant and formed a connection with Zach Georgiou.
  • Back in the villa, Zach reassured Kayda Bosse that he chose not to couple with Alannah, seemingly omitting the fact that he had no choice due to Alannah’s removal.

When Love Island USA‘s Zach Georgiou told Kayda Bosse, “If I wanted to, I would have brought her back,” we raised our eyebrows. Zach was reassuring Kayda during the June 29 episode that his head wasn’t seriously turned during Casa Amor. What he failed to mention was that he couldn’t have brought back his Casa Amor connection, Alannah Keyser, even if he wanted to.

After a video circulated online of Alannah singing along to a song with a racial slur, she was axed from the show. During Episode 20, it was announced via voiceover that Alannah had left the villa, and that was that. Following her Episode 17 debut, Alannah had formed a connection with Zach, but she was sent home before Zach and the other villa guys decided whether or not to couple up with the new women. Zach stayed loyal to Kayda — he did regularly say he missed Kayda and was thinking of her before Alannah left — but he had no other option.

During conversations with Kayda, Zach admitted to kissing and exploring with Alannah, but it begs the question: Does Kayda know the truth about Alannah’s exit? Has production (or Zach) told her?

We can look at a past case of a Love Island USA contestant being kicked out mid-show. During an episode of Season 7, it was announced that Cierra Ortega had “left the villa due to personal reasons” and the show moved on quickly. Fans had resurfaced an old video of Cierra using racist language to describe her eyes. It wasn’t addressed during the show itself or by Peacock, though Cierra later apologized for her actions on social media.

One of Cierra’s castmates, Zak Srakaew, shared more about how Cierra’s exit was addressed during filming. “How did Cierra leave?” Zak had in a post-show live video, per The Tab. “I can’t really say but when Cierra left they gathered us all together, the producers gathered us all together and then they said, ‘Unfortunately Cierra’s broken some of the policies of our guidelines, she’ll no longer be here in the villa, and that’s all the information we can give you guys.'”

Fellow Islander Nic Vansteenberghe said something similar. During a July 2025 episode of the Chicks in the Office podcast, Nic said producers brought him in and gave him a “very vague” reason for Cierra’s departure. “It was some sort of personal reason or something along those lines,” he explained, adding that he was “never told the details of anything.”

Alannah’s case is more unique because she never interacted with all of the Islanders. Cierra wasn’t brought into the villa during Casa Amor like Alannah. Based on Zak and Nic’s comments, there’s a good chance that the OG boys and Casa girls were told something about Alannah’s removal, but there’s no telling if the OG girls — including Kayda — back at the villa were briefed. After all, they never met Alannah.

Since Kayda didn’t offer a rebuttal to Zach’s “If I wanted to, I would have brought her back” comment, fans suspect Kayda is in the dark. At least based on what’s made it into the edit of the post-Casa episodes, Zach hasn’t told Kayda that Alannah was booted himself. Neither have the Casa girls that made it back into the villa.

Will production show Alannah and Zach’s conversations and kisses during June 30’s Movie Night? Then, will Zach tell Kayda about Alannah’s premature exit? Is he even allowed to? Production limited Alannah’s screen time in the episode before she was officially kicked out, so it could be they don’t want to give the controversy airtime. But we won’t know for sure until it’s outright addressed by the contestants in the show or by the network itself.
