‘Love Island USA’: Did Corbin & Parmida Date Before the Show?

In what may be a new Love Island USA record, Season 8’s Corbin Mims and Parmida Keshani have closed things off in about a week. During the June 29 episode — they met eight days earlier when Casa Amor started — Corbin asked if Parmida was interested in exploring with other contestants. Corbin explained that he’d explored with everyone that he needed to, so his head wouldn’t be turned again. In response, Parmida declared, “I’m f**king closed off.” And that was that. They celebrated later by showering together.
Naturally, Love Island USA fans are a little suspicious at the speed at which Corbin and Parmida are moving, especially since it came to light that the two knew each other before the show. Shortly after meeting, Parmida explained that Corbin had slid into her Instagram DMs in the past. Though Corbin initially denied it, Corbin sent her a message offering to work out together when he moved to Miami, but they never actually met up. (Is Parmida, who said she lives in San Antonio, actually from Miami? Who knows?)
With all of that in mind, viewers have started theorizing that there’s more to Corbin and Parmida’s pre-villa connection than they’re letting on. “They on TikTok saying that Corbin and Pyramid [Parmida] were already dating before the show,” says a viral X post. “I mean the way she was defending him, closing it off after 3 days, it makes sense. He was shocked she didn’t follow the plan of making it look realistic.”
As pre-Season 8 fans already know, Corbin and Parmida aren’t the first contestants to face pre-show dating allegations. Season 7’s Ace Greene and Chelley Bissainthe recognized each other as soon as they stepped into the villa, after the two previously met outside of a New York club and messaged on Instagram. A subset of viewers wondered if they were “scamming,” and theorized that they dated in the past and made a plan for the show ahead of time.
When it comes to Parmida and Corbin’s alleged history, not everyone is buying the theory. “Now if that’s true, why tf was he giving Kenzie [Annis] the French fries??” one X user pointed out, referring to Kenzie and Corbin’s steamy moment in bed prior to Casa Amor.
Others acknowledged that the Instagram DM conversation was “shady.” Another user wrote, “No way… if that’s true then they’re the king & queen of scamming. But also don’t production check those things? I guess it was indeed suspicious when she said she made first move & DM him but he didn’t respond back when he was literally following her.”
One said that even if they do have a strategy, the chances of Corbin and Parmida going far in the show are slim. “Doesn’t matter they’re not #mywinners but they can keep that same energy that they did for chelley and ace,” they wrote.
