The Big Brother Season 28 showmance between Rome Seymour and Lyric Medeiros has had everyone talking. The lovebirds face their biggest curveball yet after Rome’s eviction in the July 23 episode.

With Rome out of the Big Brother house, what does this mean for his blossoming relationship and possible future with Lyric? The two got hot and heavy very quickly just a few days into the season. Rome spoke with Swooon and shared an update on his status with Lyric.

First and foremost, Rome believes his relationship with Lyric is far from over. When asked whether or not he sees a future with Lyric outside of the show, he responded, “Oh, big time. She’s everything you could ever ask in a person. She’s selfless. She’s caring. She’s sweet. She’s kind. It’s the perfect person in my eyes, and she’s someone you don’t just give up on because she’s somewhere, and I’m outside the house. I’m willing to wait to be back with her.”

The 28-year-old also opened up about the moment that he and Lyric realized that they had feelings for each other. “I was willing to find someone in the house and get in a showmance. When I saw her, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s stunning! She’s beautiful.’ Then I got to know her over the day, and it was just a whole like, she’s so selfless, she’s so sweet. But I think she and I can tell you the same story of when we realized we liked each other.”

He continued, “We had the lockers next to each other to store our clothes, and we were sitting there one day, and she’s like, ‘Oh, how funny would it be if  this was high school, and you know the scene where they close the locker and flirt with each other… And I was like, ‘Oh, well, let’s reenact it.’ So I closed her locker. I’m like, ‘Hey, baby, how you doing?’ And then at that point, she and I both were just like, ‘Oh, this feels good. This feels right, you know?’ So from that point on, I think we were pretty inseparable, to be honest with you.”

Only time will tell if Rome and Lyric’s showmance will translate to a lasting one outside the Big Brother house. The longer Lyric’s in the game, the longer they’ll go without seeing each other.
