Mills told The Daily Beast in 2022 of their decision not to get married, “I don’t remember anyone ever getting down on one knee. I am so freaking independent. I just am. I’m very independent and by the time Larry and I met we were both pretty established… To combine everything at that point is really difficult. So we just combined our lives but not our finances and stuff like that. It’s much cleaner, much better.”
She met Gilman about six years after adopting her daughter. “Before him, I kind of went for the bad boys,” she told AARP. “But when I met him, I just knew I was going for the not-bad boy.”

By that time, I was 54 and people said, ‘You’re going to be so old [to] have a little toddler running around.’ I never felt that. I never felt older than the other mothers who were probably in their 20s.”
Mills brought her daughter to the set of several TV movies at the start of Chloe’s life, but stopped when Chloe got older. “When she started school, I wasn’t going to go out of town for two months at a time,” Mills explained.
“Every activity I did, she was there,” Chloe explained during their first joint interview in 2022. “Every show I did, every tennis match I had, she was always there.” Chloe added during the interview that she’d never seen Knots Landing. “I think it’s weird to see mom on screen,” she said.
Chloe, who got a matching heart tattoo with her mom in 2022, works as an executive at Soho House in Malibu. “I love being around people, and I love helping people and making them happy,” she said, and her mom chimed in that she couldn’t be prouder.
She’s also worked as a model, posting images from her photoshoots on her Instagram.
