Sonny and Carly lovers, rejoice! General Hospital icons Maurice Benard and Laura Wright got to spend some quality time together off the ABC set while attending the 2026 General Hospital Fan Club Weekend, which took place from July 30 to August 2 in Burbank, California.
The costars had a sweet reunion moment during the fan-filled weekend. Wright shared an adorable photo with Benard on her Instagram Story, and Benard soon followed with a special post of his own. Set to Peaches & Herb’s “Reunited,” the actor shared a video of himself and Wright at the fan event, and his post had a plethora of CarSon fans in the comments.
“Let me tell you about @welcometolaurasworld not only talented but she makes me laugh like crazy!!! great sense of humor @generalhospitalabc,” he captioned the video. Naturally, fans had a lot to say about this GH reunion. “Love the chemistry between you two…. She needs to become Mrs. C again!!” one fan commented. Another wrote, “Carly & Sonny 4-EVER!!!”

One fan admitted, “I still ship their characters,” and another went so far as to declare, “Best couple on daytime tv in my opinion as well as the best hair !!!” Many viewers applauded Benard and Wright for the Sonny, Carly, and Jason (Steve Burton) scenes that recently aired.
General Hospital fans are well aware of Sonny and Carly’s history through the decades. They’ve been married and divorced more times than most couples, but their chemistry is undeniable. Even when they’re with other love interests, CarSon shippers are always hoping these two will find their way back to each other. (We’d put money down that these two will get back together eventually!)
Wright recently wrapped her “summer break” with longtime love Wes Ramsey. They spent time on the East Coast before heading back out West for work. The actress showed off her “fresh color” as she prepares to return to set. “Ready to head back to Port Charles!!! Let the fun begin,” she wrote on Instagram.
