‘Sterling Point’: Do Connor & Sully Have Feelings for Each Other? Stars Weigh In

Connor (Keen Ruffalo) and Sully (Nikko Angelo Hinayo) are some of the only characters not to couple up with someone in Sterling Point Season 1, but we can’t be the only ones shipping them after Connor’s Camp Rock 2–themed birthday party. Actually, we know we’re not the only ones. Keen Ruffalo and Nikko Angelo Hinayo are also on the — Sonnor? Cully? — train.
Fresh off a breakup with a French exchange student, Connor rolls into town eager to sell the island, but his sister, Annie (Ella Rubin), assumes that he’s going to change his mind when he falls in love with someone there. It’s what he does. Her prediction doesn’t come to be this season, but Connor does hit it off with Sully from the minute they start party planning. As soon as Sully matches Connor’s energy via the Camp Rock 2 dance — you know the one — Connor even says “I f**king love you,” albeit in a friendly way.
Hinayo taught Ruffalo the dance in the hotel the cast was staying in in Muskoka. “[The producers] were like, ‘Nikko, do you mind taking time today to maybe teach Keen the dance?'” the actor recalled to Swooon. “And you know what, he was such a good sport about it. He was so awesome, and we really bonded that day, too.”
Did Ruffalo get the choreo right away? “Oh no, absolutely not,” Hinayo said. “No, with love. No, but he eventually got it, and he’s such a he’s such a trooper. He’s out for like anything, and he’s so talented.”
Connor also makes Sully put on the Alyson Stoner shirts he had made — Connor superimposed his head on Stoner’s body. “[The shirt] was Keen’s wrap gift for all of us. I also got to keep the Poot sticker as well,” Hinayo said, referring to the Demi Lovato meme. The stickers were in Connor’s party favor bag for everyone. “You don’t get to see it in a show, but there’s Poot stickers that we got to take home.”

Sully is one of the only members of the friend group to show up at Connor’s party. Even Annie opts for the club with Rory (Daniel Quinn-Toye) over her twin brother’s party. Ruffalo explained in another interview with Swooon, “I think Sully also being there for his birthday and kind of like being the only person that showed up. I think that really did mean a lot to him.”
Are the actors rooting for a Connor-Sully romance? “I think that their relationship is awesome,” Hinayo said. “I think that it’s really cool to see their friendship really blossom. And me and Keen have had many discussions about what their relationship could look like in the future. You know what? I do ship them Sulonnor all the way.”
“We flirted with the idea,” Ruffalo said of Connor and Sully. “Sully cares. I don’t know. I think Sully might be too good for Connor, though, in Connor’s current state.”
