Now that we’re headed back to Hollywood Arts for Trina Vega’s moment in the spotlight, I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic about all of the Nickelodeon TV shows that we watched growing up.
While Trina (Daniella Monet) never found her happily ever after, at least in the original series about her sister, Victorious, iCarly, Drake & Josh, and more Nick shows from the 2000s and early 2010s featured iconic love stories that laid the groundwork for decades of romance obsession to come. However, not every Nickelodeon teen couple is created equal — even if they do end up together. Just look at Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy) and Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress), while they set the blueprint for enemies-to-lovers everywhere, the iCarly revival proved that Freddie was destined to end up with Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) all along. Somewhere, 10-year-old me is completely heartbroken.
Below, you can find Swooon‘s definitive ranking of the most legendary Nickelodeon couples, ranked from least likely to most likely still be together today. Disagree with our ranking? Sound off in the comments below!
Nickelodeon
10. Beck & Jade from Victorious
Status: Lovers-to-enemies
As much as we loved Hollywood Arts hottie Beck (Avan Jogia) and his goth, sometimes eyebrow-less girlfriend, Jade (Elizabeth Gillies), we can’t help but hope that both of them have found love with someone else. While there was genuine love there, nearly every scene this Victorious couple shared ended in a screaming match, and their love story felt more like Tell Me Lies than The Summer I Turned Pretty. Sure, their breakup would be messy, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s definitely needed.

9. Freddie & Sam from iCarly
Status: Ended up with her best friend
When you think about it, it’s kind of cruel that iCarly‘s Freddie spent his whole childhood pining after Carly before winding up with Sam, only to revert back to Carly while Sam is “off following her bliss with that biker gang.” I would be getting my butter sock ready to defend Sam’s honor if Freddie and Carly weren’t so perfect for each other. Don’t worry, more on that later.
Nickelodeon
8. Kendall & Jo from Big Time Rush
Status: Distance broke them up
It’s been 15 years, and “Worldwide” is still the greatest love song of our time. While Big Time Rush‘s Kendall (Kendall Schmidt) and Jo (Katelyn Tarver) got back together after her short stint in New Zealand, we can’t help but think that both of their careers would get in the way of their romance. You can’t tuck someone in “every night on the phone” for the rest of your life. Sorry, Kendall.
Nickelodeon
7. True & Jimmy from True Jackson, VP
Status: Just a workmance
At seven years old, True Jackson’s life was deeply aspirational: She was a teenager with a job as a fashion designer and a hot mailroom-working boyfriend. My “Imagine: Fashion Designer New York” playing self could never. However, it’s clear that True Jackson, VP‘s True (Keke Palmer) and Jimmy (Robbie Amell) would have broken up as soon as either one of them left their job, no matter how strong their chemistry was.
Nickelodeon
6. Josh & Mindy from Drake & Josh
Status: High school sweethearts
While Drake & Josh‘s Drake (Drake Bell) had more girlfriends than we could count, Josh (Josh Peck) only had eyes for Mindy (Allison Scagliotti). An on-again, off-again relationship is never a good sign, especially before heading to college. While we know that Josh and Mindy stayed together for a year after the show officially ended, since she appeared in the special Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh, we’re convinced that Josh had at least one more great romance in him before settling down.
Nickelodeon
5. Zoey & Chase from Zoey 101
Status: Would break up in Zoey 103
Sure, Zoey 101‘s Zoey (Jamie Lynn Spears) and Chase (Sean Flynn) were cuties during their friends-to-lovers era, but as much as I loved seeing them get back together in the show’s reunion, Zoey 102, I didn’t buy it. Not every couple from your childhood friend group gets back together with the high school sweetheart. When it comes to PCA couples, I’m rooting for a different pairing.
Nickelodeon
4. Cat & Robbie from Victorious
Status: Found their way back to each other
You know what, I’ll say it, I think this couple is “Swell.” While everyone was off shipping Beck and Jade, puppet-toting Robbie (Matt Bennett) and bibble-popping Cat (Ariana Grande) were my 2012 jam. Robbie and Cat didn’t get together before the Victorious spinoff, Sam & Cat, was cancelled. However, Grande confirmed via Twitter that Cat and Robbie would get back together in a future episode. That’s good enough for me!

3. Carly & Freddie from Victorious
Status: Meant to be
If you had asked me in elementary school if Freddie (Kress) and Carly (Cosgrove) should end up together, I would have given you a firm no. But after the iCarly revival, I completely see the vision. Freddie and Carly match each other’s freak, and their relationship was worth the wait, no matter how much Nevel Papperman (Reed Alexander) and his olive tapenade would beg to differ.
Nickelodeon
2. Ned & Moze from Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide
Status: Made for each other
In Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, Ned (Devon Werkheiser) and Moze (Lindsey Shaw) share the kind of slow-burning, friends-to-lovers romance one could only dream of, proving that they are meant to be together in every lifetime — including this one. Turns out, Werkheiser and Shaw were dating when they filmed the finale of the show. While they are no longer together, they recently reunited to discuss their relationship, where Shaw called their relationship “one of the highlights of my life.”
Nickelodeon
1. Logan & Quinn from Zoey 101
Status: Soulmates
Let’s just say, Zoey 102 had me feeling moved. Logan (Matthew Underwood) and Quinn (Erin Sanders) were Nickelodeon’s most unlikely duo, which is what made them such a strong couple. From Logan putting Quinn’s glasses back on to the two of them feeling mutually embarrassed about their feeling for each other, this couple was THE enemies-to-lovers of the mid-2000s. Thank goodness they tied the knot in the sequel.
