Noah Centineo on ‘XO, Kitty’ Return: ‘Hopefully, I Didn’t Ruin Peter’s Legacy’

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for XO, Kitty Season 2 Episode 6, “Kiss and Make Up.”]

XO, Kitty Season 2 brought back a familiar face from the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise as Noah Centineo reprised his role as Peter Kavinsky, boyfriend to Kitty Song Covey’s (Anna Cathcart) older sister Lara Jean (Lana Condor).

On a sports-related trip to Korea with Stanford, Peter made sure he took time to reconnect with Kitty while he was close to KISS, sharing some sweet heart-to-heart moments of encouragement as she wondered how to deal with her day-to-day drama. The confidence boost was just what she needed, thanks in part to Peter’s words of wisdom.

As for Centineo, he admits of the return, “I think it’s always kind of daunting when you go back to a character that people liked so much, right? [That] was such a special time, it was a long time ago. It certainly feels like a long time ago,” he adds, referencing the To All the Boys film franchise which, along with the aforementioned To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, also includes To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You and To All the Boys: Always and Forever.

“So it’s a daunting thing, you know, you really don’t wanna reopen something and do a bad job and have people be like, why [did he] do that?… There’s always that possibility,” Centineo continues.

Luckily, that doesn’t seem to be the case for fans who are continuing to fawn over his return through social media posts and edits. Still, it all boiled down to Cathcart as Centineo adds, “But I love Anna so much, and the fact that they were shooting in South Korea at the same time [as The Recruit Season 2]… I was given the opportunity and I love Matt Kaplan, I love the team there and, what am I gonna say? No?”

“I think it was wonderful and like I said, I’m such a supporter of Anna,” Centineo adds, continuing to sing Cathcart’s praises. “She’s so talented, she’s so sweet. I was excited and scared,” he admits.”Hopefully, I didn’t ruin Peter’s legacy…”

We see no ruined legacies in sight. What did you think of Centineo’s return as Peter Kavinsky? Let us know in the comments section, below.
