Taylor Haag and Daniel Hastings hit it off from the get-go, bonding over their favorite fast food — looking at you, Taco Bell — and their communal holiday spirit. The “short king” and registered nurse never had any lulls within their various dates.

Talking about everything and nothing, the duo were always able to find comfort throughout their pod dates. Both very faith-minded, they seemed to match on literally everything. They were quickly becoming unstoppable until Taylor revealed that Daniel might have already had a sneak peek of what she looked like before coming on the show.

Toying with the Love Is Blind premise is a huge no-no, but Minneapolis is on a smaller scale in the range of cities they have featured. The biggest question of Season 8 so far: Did Daniel follow Taylor on Instagram before the show? Scroll down for the latest on the scandal.

Did Daniel follow Taylor on Instagram before Love Is Blind?

Taylor and Daniel definitely had Instagram on the brain while talking in the pods. The sales account executive suddenly prompted his frontrunner about her Instagram handle, and Taylor asked Daniel whether he had followed her before. He confidently said, “No.”

Yet, Taylor wasn’t too sure of that. After meeting each other in person, Taylor had a weird feeling that she had already seen him before. In a shocking turn of events, Taylor confessed to the camera that she was certain he had followed her on Instagram prior to coming on the show. “I believe he knew exactly what I looked like the entire time we were talking through the wall,” she said.

She even brought up a specific picture she thought she saw, one of Daniel seated in front of a Christmas tree. Daniel denied all allegations. He did, however, confess to having a similar photo on his profile. Instead of a Christmas tree, he was actually sitting in front of a fireplace. Despite Daniel’s denial, Taylor wasn’t ready to fully believe him at the end of Episode 6.

Taylor said, “All the things that we talked about are all on my Instagram as well,” while she was addressing the “supposed betrayal.” When the producers gave her the opportunity to look through her app that tracks who follows and unfollows her in Episode 7, Daniel’s profile was nowhere to be seen.

Daniel even confirmed, “Seeing the doors open was the first time that I saw what you looked like.” However, he was very understanding. He even blocked her attempt to call herself “crazy.”

Why would it be a big deal?

Taylor clearly didn’t like the idea of Daniel possibly knowing about her before the show. As she brought up, besides knowing what she looked like, he would’ve also been able to have insight into her social life and interests. This would defeat the entire premise of Love Is Blind.

Although, even if he did follow her, it could’ve genuinely been an accident. There’s no way of knowing whether it would’ve been a calculated follow or just a suggested profile.

The Instagram situation will definitely be a turning point in their relationship. Taylor will likely have to get confirmation of the truth before moving forward with Daniel.

Are Daniel and Taylor still together?

As of Episode 9, Daniel and Taylor are still engaged.

After the first batch dropped, the series left off on a cliffhanger before viewers could find out what Taylor was going to do next. As they weren’t featured in the preview for the second set of episodes fans debated whether they moved on in the experiment, but they did.

The couple is doing really well as they head closer to the aisle. While meeting Daniel’s family, his parents confessed that they loved the concept of Love Is Blind and talked about his sister, Rachel, who was born blind. Taylor’s parents took a little bit longer to warm up to the process, but eventually came around as they met her potential husband and his parents.
