How did Laura Wright and Wes Ramsey meet?
Laura Wright and Wes Ramsey first met on the set of Guiding Light in the early 2000s. At the time, Wright was playing Cassie Layne, while Ramsey played Sam. Wright left the soap in 2005 to join General Hospital as the new Carly Corinthos.
“I was smitten, but I had to keep it to myself,” Ramsey told Michael Fairman TV in 2018. Wright was still married and expecting her second child. “But we laughed and had great conversations.”
When did Laura Wright and Wes Ramsey start dating?
Wright and Ramsey reconnected in 2017 during the weekend of the Daytime Emmys. Ramsey asked for Wright’s number when they ran into each other.
“There was an assertiveness on my part that was for sure 15 years in the making. I did not expect to run into her,” he admitted to Michael Fairman TV. “I also did not expect for her to tell me that she was recently single. In that split second, it was one of those ‘stop the presses’ moments. Like, you need to give me your number, I’m taking you to dinner.”
Ramsey eventually admitted to his long-standing crush on Wright. “I let her know that this was something that was always there for me,” the actor told Soap Opera Digest. “If someone had whispered in my ear [that they would eventually begin a romance], after I did cartwheels, I probably would have said, ‘The sooner the better!’ But we both had time to grow and become who we’re meant to be so that we can be our best selves for each other, and we just feel so happy that we found each other at this time in our lives.”
And the rest is history! The couple quickly made things official and have been head over heels ever since. Right around the time Wright and Ramsey started dating, Ramsey was cast as Peter/Henrik Faison on GH.

On April 28, the couple celebrated their eight-year anniversary. Wright shared several photos with Ramsey on her Instagram Stories. Ramsey posted on his Instagram grid and wrote, “Thank you for 8 yrs of reaching for our stars, walking in the light of our beautiful life & jumping on my head whenever you feel like it. You give us the playfulness of your spirit & all the laughter & love i could have ever dreamt of. Here’s to our present moments…”
The couple has never been shy about their love for one another. From vacations to sweet moments at home, Wright and Ramsey are inseparable. In honor of their seven years in 2024, Ramsey gushed over his love for Wright.

Who is Laura Wright’s ex-husband?
Wright was previously married to John Wright, an architect. They first started dating in high school and had an on-again, off-again relationship through college. The couple got engaged in August 1995 and married a few months later on October 7, 1995.
After over 20 years of marriage, the Wrights split in 2016. “John and I have decided to end our 20 year marriage. We remain committed and dedicated to our two wonderful children and will always be a supportive, loving family of four – we are just doing it differently now!” the GH star said in a statement at the time, according to Michael Fairman TV.
The former couple had separated two years earlier in 2014. She admitted to her longtime costar Maurice Benard, aka Sonny Corinthos, that her divorce was a difficult period in her life. “When I finally let go and stopped running from the pain and witnessed what was happening and accepted it, then it all started to fall into place,” she admitted on his State of Mind series.
The actress said that when her marriage “started to crumble, it was like watching a 5-year-old child lose her mind at times. Like, a severe temper tantrum, but as an adult woman. That version of me had to die for me to be reborn as who I am now. Because I really was broken, and it was a death.”
Does Laura Wright have kids?
Wright shares two kids with her ex-husband. Their daughter, Lauren, was born in 1998. Their son, John Michael, was born in 2000.
