Ant Anstead and Renée Zellweger began dating in 2021 after meeting on the set of Celebrity IOU Joyride. Anstead hosted the show, which featured celebrities gifting refurbished cars to someone special in their lives, and Zellweger was one of the celebrity guests.
“Renée and my relationship is something that’s really private,” Anstead told People later that year. “It’s something I’m not really willing to talk too much about. It’s really early in our relationship and I don’t want to put any pressure on that.”
In the years that followed, he slowly began opening up about their relationship a bit more, but the two have kept their love private, for the most part. Recently, they faced split rumors after reports surfaced that they were living apart while Anstead was spending time with another woman, Julia French, at her home in California.

Yes, despite speculation about a breakup, Anstead and Zellweger are going strong. He responded to the rumors about their living situation on May 29.
“Sadly, the recent reports in the press are disrespectful and misleading,” a rep for Anstead told People. “[Anstead] stayed just a handful of days in Julia French’s separate, and detached, guest house. They have been long-time friends with similar aged children within a circle of local Laguna Beach friends.”
The rep also pointed out that Anstead and Zellweger have been apart recently because he’s been “spending the majority of his time working in the U.K.,” while she’s in New York City working on Only Murders in the Building. “[They] remain in a cherished relationship that they ask to keep private.”

In a January 2025 interview with British Vogue, Zellweger gave some insight into the couple’s living situation when she revealed that she’d moved to San Diego to be with her man.
“I live in Southern California, near San Diego,” she said. “Because that’s where my fellow lives, and his little boy.”
People first reported in April 2023 that Zellweger and Anstead “found a house that they both love and are moving in together.”

No, the couple does not have any children together. However, Anstead has three children from previous relationships.
He shares his older children, Amelie and Archie, with Louise Storey, whom he was married to from 2005 to 2017. He also has a son, Hudson, with Christina Haack, whom he divorced in 2021.

In January, Haack opened up about her relationship with Zellweger as she coparents with Anstead. Although she said they don’t “spend a lot of time together,” she explained, “It’s mostly just on the soccer field or at drop-off, but she’s super nice. She loves Hudson and Hudson loves her. And she and Ant are happy.”
