‘My Life with the Walter Boys’: Will Nathan & Skylar Get Back Together in Season 3? EP Spills

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2.]
Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) isn’t the only one with a messy love life. In My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2, Nathan (Corey Fogelmanis) just might have her beat.
Nathan has a sweet opposites-attract romance with the ambitious, confident Skylar (Jaylan Evans) in Season 1. There are a few bumps in the road. Skylar is turned off by Nathan coming on too strong in the early days of their relationship, and Nathan feels like his epilepsy diagnosis makes Skylar overprotective, but they overcome them. However, Season 2 presents them with a new hurdle in the form of newcomer Zach (Carson MacCormac).
After bonding over their shared taste in music, Nathan gets caught up in Zach’s flirtations throughout the first few episodes. It culminates in Nathan planting a kiss on Zach at the school dance in Episode 5 — right in front of Skylar. Nathan ditches Skylar for Zach after that, until he realizes that Zach is Skylar’s jilted ex and just wanted to get back at him.
My Life with the Walter Boys showrunner Melanie Halsall sat down with Swooon to break down Nathan’s actions. She revealed if Nathan and Skylar have any chance at making up in Season 3, which has already been greenlit by Netflix.
“I think Nathan is a little bit insecure and unsure of himself, whereas Skylar’s very secure of himself, and I felt that was a very real thing for a young person in love to be, that when you get attention from somebody else, it actually can be quite easy to have your head turned,” she explained, adding that she wanted to depict how that feels from both sides of the relationship.
“I don’t think Nathan ever meant any harm,” she continued. “And I don’t think he could really help himself. He wasn’t trying to be a cheat. He just got caught up in somebody really wanting him, which is incredibly intoxicating especially if someone’s quite insecure.”
Nathan also got swept away in Zach due to his controlling personality. “I think it was easy for Nathan to start losing himself,” Halsall added. “And I felt that was a really interesting thing to explore as well.”

In the Season 2 finale, however, Nathan realizes where he went wrong. He tries to explain himself and get Skylar back, but Skylar isn’t having it. He says Nathan’s insecurities aren’t an excuse for how he treated him. Still, after Nathan tells Skylar he loves him, Skylar says it back — but he can’t be with him if he can’t trust him.
“It’s a tricky one, isn’t it?” Halsall said when asked about their romantic future. “I think Skylar was very hard done by, and even though I think we can understand Nathan’s reasoning and emotions, insecurities, I think it would take a lot for Skylar to want to jump back in that.”
Still, Halsall didn’t shut down the idea of Nathan and Skylar reconciling entirely. “At the same time, as [Skylar] says, he loves Nathan, so who knows where it’s going to go?” she teased. “You know, they have a real connection, those two. So we’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out.”
