“Yes, I am single, but I’m never alone because I’m a man of God,” Withers spilled during a March 18 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. He echoed the sentiment in an interview with Cosmopolitan, with whom he also shared some insights into his dating life.
When asked if he enjoyed dating, Withers responded, “Do I? Oh my god. Yes and no. I like dating the right person. But it gets expensive — and not even financially. It’s expensive, like, on my heart and mental state. So I’m just kind of chilling. We can hang out in group settings, do karaoke, go, like, wrestle pigs.”
When the interviewer inquired about the “wrestling pigs” comment, the actor added, “I’m waiting for a girl to be like, ‘Let’s go paintballing.’ Because I hate paintballing, but, like…”
“Wait, you hate paintballing, but you want to be invited to do it on a date?” the interviewer asked.

Withers hasn’t spoken much about his romantic past, though he did recount “the worst date of his life” in an interview with GQ. Shortly after filming Atlanta, he slept on a friend’s couch in Los Angeles. During that time, he met “a very successful young lady” and took her out to dinner.
In his attempt to impress her, Withers presented her with a birthday balloon instead of flowers, which was tied to her chair when they got to the restaurant. At the end of the night, she turned down a to-go box for her barely eaten meal, so Withers asked if he could take it with him. Finally, to cap off the awkward outing, Withers said, “‘I had a fun time with you. You really look lovely. Good night… mi amor.'” He said it was “an insane thing” to call her after only one date.
Still, that wasn’t the last time they saw each other. “Oh, we actually had a second date,” Withers added. “It was lower stakes, we went to some hole-in-the-wall bar, so I was more chill. She was like, ‘I like this version of you.’”
In the same interview, Withers revealed that he almost quit acting after his brother, Kionte, died in a car accident in April 2021. He was on the verge of moving home to help raise his nephew, but his then-partner made him reconsider. “My partner at the time asked me, ‘What would Kionte want?’” Withers recalled. “And I came to the conclusion that the best way to serve my family is to continue on this path of chasing my dreams.”
Though she might not be the partner Withers is referring to, we discovered that Withers used to date a YouTuber named Jaiden Ashlea. Having once run a YouTube channel himself — under the handle @TyriqTV — Withers first collaborated with Jaiden in May 2017.
