What To Know

  • Some stars used their 2026 Grammys acceptance speeches to thank their significant others.
  • Lady Gaga and Jelly Roll made sure to shout-out their loves while accepting awards at the show.

The Grammy Awards are the biggest night in music, and plenty of stars use the occasion to showcase their love. Couples like Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando, Reba McEntire and Rex Linn, and Justin and Hailey Bieber hit the red carpet before the ceremony. Afterward, once awards started being handed out, some of the winners made sure to thank their significant others in their acceptance speeches.

While the speeches were mostly filled with political statements, there were also a couple of sweet moments from stars who sent messages to their loves.

Jelly Roll was the first artist to thank his special someone at the February 1 ceremony, crediting his wife for changing and saving his life. One category later, Lady Gaga thanked her fiancé, who also had a hand in making her Grammy-winning record. Scroll to find out exactly what the winners said about their partners on their big night.

Jelly Roll

Before he accepted the trophy for Best Contemporary Country Album, Jelly Roll kissed his wife, Bunnie Xo, and went on to shout her out during his speech. After thanking Jesus, the country artist said, “Second of all, I want to thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you. I’d have ended up dead or in jail. I’d have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus. I thank you for that.”

Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alyssa DeFord, has been married to Jelly Roll since 2016. The podcaster is a stepmom to her husband’s two kids, Bailee Ann and Noah Buddy. They’ve recently shared that they’re trying to have a baby via in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

Lady Gaga

When she found out that she won the Best Pop Vocal Album award, Lady Gaga shared a hug and kiss with her fiancé, Michael Polansky. His support wasn’t all that the musician thanked him for: He also co-wrote several songs on her album Mayhem, which he also produced.

“I have to say thank you first to my partner, Michael,” she said. “I love you so much. You are by my side every single day in a way that I can’t thank you enough for and you worked so hard with me on this record and all year. So I love you and thank you.”

Gaga has been in a relationship with Polansky, who serves as the executive director and cofounder of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, for over five years. They were first linked in 2020, making joint appearances at industry events ever since. At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Gaga announced their engagement.
