Taylor Frankie Paul is coming to The Bachelorette with quite a bit of public history. In addition to her relationships and scandals, which have played out in the public eye on MomTok and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the Season 22 lead is also a mom of multiple children.

“My kids were able to come visit and I saw them, but being away from home for that long was very hard,” she admitted to Us Weekly. “I’m a homebody.”

How many kids does Taylor Frankie Paul have?

Taylor has three children. Her first child, daughter Indy, was born on August 31, 2017. On June 18, 2020, she gave birth to her son, Ocean, followed by another son, Ever, on March 19, 2024.

Ever’s birth came after Taylor experienced an ectopic pregnancy in 2022. An ectopic pregnancy “occurs when a fertilized egg implants and grows outside the main cavity of the uterus,” according to Mayo Clinic.

Taylor told Us Weekly that she “wants more kids” but doesn’t want to have them until she’s “with my person I want to be with forever.” She also said she would be “open to stepkids.”

Who are the fathers of Taylor Frankie Paul’s kids?

Tate Paul is the father of Taylor’s first two children, Indy and Ocean. Taylor and Tate got married in 2016 and divorced in 2022.

Meanwhile, Ever’s father is Dakota Mortensen, Taylor’s ex-boyfriend, whom she started dating in 2022 shortly after her split from Tate. Taylor and Dakota’s relationship was very fresh when she had her ectopic pregnancy, and she conceived Ever less than a year later.

What happened with Taylor Frankie Paul and Tate Paul?

Taylor and Tate dealt with “a lot of issues” in their marriage, she revealed. However, the “soft-swinging” scandal that the couple was involved in was ultimately the “tip of the iceberg” that led to the split.

During their marriage, Taylor and Tate had an agreement, allowing them to swap sexual partners with other couples. However, there was a stipulation that they were not supposed to sleep with other people, and Taylor admitted she “[stepped] out of that agreement.”

Taylor confirmed that during the swaps she was “intimate” with other people on “several occasions,” adding, “Tate has made out with several girls and [done] other things, and I’ve made out with all of the husbands and [done] other things.” She ended up taking things a step too far, though, which led to the divorce.

What happened with Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen?

Following Ever’s birth in 2024, Taylor and Dakota’s relationship was on-and-off because she was unable to fully trust him. The issues began after Ever was born, and Taylor found out that Dakota was still sleeping with other women when they met and were in the “talking” phase of their relationship.

“Right after Ever was born, Dakota and I were living together and in bliss with our new baby, and I was even considering engagement. And then I learned that he was lying this entire time,” Taylor said on an episode of Mormon Wives.

After meeting with a woman named Jenna, whom Dakota was hooking up with even after he and Taylor slept together, Taylor added, “I found out a lot of things that were not being told the truth this entire time. He made it seem like she was the one that was always instigating and begging. No, it was him.”

Still, Taylor continued to sleep with Dakota on-and-off for months, including the night before she left to film The Bachelorette, a bombshell that was revealed on Season 4 of Mormon Wives. Oh, and they also weren’t using protection during their pre-Bachelorette hookups (although Taylor recently clarified that she is not pregnant).

“It was a choice [to leave Dakota],” Taylor said, of her decision to film The Bachelorette amid the messy relationship. “Ready, at the end of the day, is a decision. So I made the decision to leave for two months and try. I reassured [the men] that was why I was here.”
