What is Meredith Phillips doing now?
In 2024, Meredith appeared on the Almost Famous podcast with Bob and Trista Sutter to give an update on her life. At the time, she was living in the Northwest and worked as a chef for hospitals. “I have a base here in the Northwest, and then I travel to other hospitals that need me. It works for me,” she said.
In 2013, Meredith opened up about her battle with alcoholism. “I started with bottles, and then I would go for the box of wine. Then I could hide it, you know, because I could just crumple up the box,” she told Good Morning America. After her Bachelorette breakup and losing both of her parents, her drinking problem worsened. She would wake up after “blacking out” and discover cuts and bruises on her body.
“Always bruises on my legs and arms from falling. [I was] just constantly hurting myself on the outside as well as the inside,” she said. Meredith checked herself into a treatment program and stayed there for two months. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI in 2022 in South Carolina, according to The U.S. Sun. The charges appear to have been dismissed.
Who did Meredith Phillips pick on The Bachelorette?
Meredith got engaged to Ian McKee at the end of The Bachelorette Season 2. “I do have some regrets,” Meredith admitted on the Almost Famous podcast. However, she later said that she didn’t have “any negativity towards these series at all.”
Meredith and Ian’s engagement didn’t last. They had broken up by February 2005. When Trista asked Meredith if she was still in contact with her ex, Meredith said, “I think he’s back in Brazil, but no. No, I haven’t. For some reason, he doesn’t want any correlation with the show.”
