‘Age of Attraction’s Leah Woolfolk & Chris Dahlan Break Down Their Season 1 Finale Split

While most of the Age of Attraction Season 1 couples left commitment day hand-in-hand, one duo couldn’t move forward together. Now, they’re sitting down with Swooon to take viewers inside their split. (Warning: Age of Attraction Season 1 finale spoilers ahead!)
Ahead of commitment day, 41-year-old Leah Woolfolk told viewers, “Despite all of our ups and downs, I think [the guy I marry] could be Chris.” However, Chris Dahlan, her 26-year-old boyfriend, did not feel the same. He told Leah, “I think that we do need to continue to be honest with each other… Maybe the age gap was harder than we thought.
“I do think that the age difference did cause an unnecessary pressure on both of us, and put us in a situation where, for the first time in my life, I felt like it was hard for me to be myself,” Chris revealed on commitment day. “And that’s why ultimately, I feel that this partnership is not right.” Read on to find out what Chris had to say about his decision and whether Leah was expecting it.

“That was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made,” Chris confessed when he sat down with Swooon. While he only knew Leah for five weeks, he explained, “You’re talking about five weeks that feels like five years in the moment, right? Like one day feels like a week.” While Chris and Leah spent almost every moment together during those weeks, he was also able to meet her family and vice versa, which he revealed “took everything to another level.”
That being said, he told Swooon that it was not a hard decision to end things with Leah. It was more difficult to express why he felt that way. He explained, “At that point, when I was walking up, I was very confident that I was making the right decision. It was more about communicating my feelings as best as possible, because I felt like, for the first time in my life, those two, three weeks, I was struggling getting my thoughts into words.”
From Leah’s perspective, it was clear that Chris would call things off, but she wasn’t going to agree just to save face. She told Swooon, “I kind of knew going in that he would say no. But for me, I was like, ‘I’m gonna say my truth because I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt.'”
As Leah explained in the finale, she knew neither she nor Chris had been able to fully be themselves during the experiment. So, looking forward, she found herself asking, “Why not? It’s not like I’m asking to marry him. We can just date, hang out, whatever.” Walking away from their relationship, Leah told Chris, “Nice to meet you.” We’ll have to wait until a potential reunion to find out where they stand today!
