It’s been nearly a year since Emmy Sharrett and Will Kulp got engaged after dodging rumors that he cheated on her on Season 3 of Southern Hospitality. Now, Will has stepped away from the show to focus on law school as they plan their wedding.
Emmy opened up to Swooon about when she and her future husband plan to tie the knot. She also revealed whether any of her Bravo costars will be invited to the nuptials.
“It’s going great,” Emmy confirmed. “I’m very type B, unfortunately. I’m the kind of person where I’m happy getting married anywhere.” However, she and Will have narrowed down their location to the English countryside since she grew up in England and Will’s mom is English.
“Will’s in his final semester of law school, and I honestly want to do this with him, but it’s been hard to do with him while he’s fully in school,” she explained. “So once he graduates in May, it will be nice to have him back in Charleston so we can tag team our wedding together. We’re probably looking at summer of next year [2027].”
Another reason they’re waiting another year to get married is because Emmy’s sister’s wedding is in December, and three of her best friends are getting married throughout September and October. “It’s a jam-packed fall for us, so let’s just hold off another year,” she suggested. “A year of being engaged flew by, so I’m happy we’re waiting a little bit just to give us some more time to plan.”
One thing Emmy has checked off the list is finding her wedding dress. She confirmed that she and Will are planning to have a “small, intimate wedding.” The biggest obstacle right now is getting in touch with the church where they plan to say “I do.” “You have to coordinate with the church and a venue, and doing it overseas is that much more difficult,” she admitted. “We’re definitely going to get that nailed down, but I’m a little last minute.”
Because it will be a small affair, Emmy doesn’t envision many castmates making the guest list, which also means the nuptials likely won’t be filmed for Bravo. “Never say no, but again, the venues we’re looking at are 80 people capacity, so you’re looking at a pretty small invite list to begin with,” she pointed out. “I’m not opposed, but it’s not like the cast would be there. It would just be maybe Leva [Bonaparte] and [her husband] Lamar.”
