Alexia Jayy won Season 29 of The Voice during the April 14 finale. Behind the scenes of her time on the show, she had the ultimate support system in her longtime boyfriend, David Rembert, and her kids.
Following her victory, Alexia opened up to Swooon about how special it was to have David and the kids in her corner while filming The Voice in 2025.
“My kids, they know that I love music and they love music just as much as I do,” Alexia said. “In their mind, we’re going to go off and get this big ol’ castle and live happily ever after. They’re super supportive. They want to be rich!”
David has also been “super supportive,” Alexia added. “He has supported me through this whole thing. He has had the kids while I’ve been traveling, and it means the world to me because you don’t find that in a partner too often. It’s somebody who supports what you do, especially what I do, because it’s a lot of travel, a lot of me being gone, a lot of not talking every day, but he still supports me, and I love that.”
Ahead of the finale, David showed love to Alexia on Instagram, writing, “Just wanna say Win or Lose bae I’m so proud of you… you passion for this and loyalty has brought you to this point and not just to this point you going farther than this…I love you bae and the whole city behind you.”
Meanwhile, the singer’s eldest child, her son, was an integral part of the reason she chose Adam Levine to be her coach on Season 29. After all three coaches turned their chairs for Alexia’s Blind Audition, her son declared that Maroon 5 was his favorite band, and Alexia ultimately went with Team Adam.
“I went in not really knowing what I was going to do, and my son sealed the deal,” Alexia told us. “We listen to Maroon 5 all the time and to know that he loves Adam just as much as I did, and Adam got up there and said what he said … I was convinced. My son said what he said, and I was like, ‘OK, well that’s it, that’s the one.’ The kids know!”
