During an interview with Swooon, 90 Day: The Single Life Season 5 Tell All host Ross Mathews revealed that his conversation with 90 Day Fiancé star Vanja Grbic, her boyfriend, Tony, and her cousin, Sanela, was one of the most unexpected moments of the night. Now, Swooon can exclusively reveal a sneak peek of their emotional discussion.
“I was surprised at the depth of the issues that we got to, that they have,” Ross revealed while chatting with Swooon. “The conversation sort of started like things are great, and then as we picked a little bit, we discovered that’s not necessarily the case.” With Sanela entering the picture, Ross teased, “She loves to feed the flames with evidence.”
In Swooon‘s preview, which you can watch above, Sanela tells Tony, “[Vanya] adores you. But then, when you switch to this other person, you turn into a monster.”
While Tony argues that Sanela is exaggerating the situation, Sanela claims, “It’s not normal, the amount of anger for such a small issue. You go from zero to 100.” Interjecting, Ross asks, “Tony, do you stand by your behavior?”
“I don’t stand by that,” Tony confesses. “I mean, [Sanela] is correct. There’s sometimes where I do, like, blow off.” As Sanela puts it, “There’s no excuses to make someone cry like that… There’s no reason to yell and scream.”
She continues, “And it’s not just like every once in a while, it’s often. You guys have been together not even a full year, and I don’t think she can count how many times she’s cried over the stupidest arguments. I’m just saying, like, seeing my cousin cry over and over again, of course, it’s going to anger me because this is not the cousin that I have. I mean, she’s crying right now.”
While Tony clearly recognizes the errors in his ways, he seems shocked when fellow cast member Sophie Sierra calls their relationship toxic.
Through tears, Vanja responds, “He’s my person.” Turning to Tony, she shares, “I love you. I wanna spend my life with you. I just want us to work on communication so that we don’t explode over stupid s**t. That’s our biggest problem.”
