What To Know

  • Off Campus Season 2 will introduce Grace, Logan’s love interest from Elle Kennedy’s The Mistake.
  • Off Campus hasn’t confirmed which couple will lead Season 2 yet, though it’s interweaving storylines from multiple books.
  • Season 2 should end with this pivotal moment from The Mistake, setting up Logan and Grace for Season 3.

Off Campus Season 1 surprised us in more way than one, but that twist ending is what really had our jaw on the floor. (Ha.) Though we’re still reeling from that Hunter Davenport (Charlie Evans) reveal — a total departure from Elle Kennedy’s books — we’re already thinking ahead to how Season 2 should end. (Warning: Off Campus Season 1 and The Mistake spoilers ahead!)

Now that Hannah (Ella Bright) and Garrett’s (Belmont Cameli) The Deal has been covered, the show has a few more books to work with. Season 1 includes moments from Dean (Stephen Kalyn) and Allie’s The Score, which arrives third in the series. The finale ends on a major moment for them — but we already know that The Mistake‘s Grace Ivers (India Fowler) will come into the picture in Season 2.

Grace and John Logan’s (Antonio Cipriano) love story directly follows Hannah and Garrett’s, so they fall in love before Dean and Allie do in the book universe. We still don’t know which couple will be the primary focus of Season 2, but we’re theorizing that, based on Season 1’s ending, Dean and Allie will take center stage. As we know now, Off Campus sets up the next couple before they lead, which is why the second season absolutely has to end with this moment from The Mistake.

In both the book and the show, Logan develops a crush on Hannah. Logan tries to distract himself from his feelings — and his complicated home life — by hooking up and partying. Enter freshman Grace Ivers, who’s been attracted to Logan from afar but has never met him. When he accidentally knocks on Grace’s dorm room door in search of a party, Logan stays and watches a movie with her. After that, they casually fool around a couple of times.

We won’t regale you with all the plot details, but after their connection deepens, Logan (mistakenly) comes to the conclusion that he doesn’t have real feelings for Grace. He thinks he likes her simply because she’s a distraction from his crush on Hannah. Guilty, Logan decides to tell Grace the truth. Grace invites Logan over with the intention of losing her virginity to him, but he comes clean before that happens.

After Logan devastates Grace, Hannah addresses the elephant crush in the room. Hannah helps Logan realize that it’s not her that Logan wants: He wants a relationship like Hannah and Garrett have. And he wants it with Grace. But by the time the light bulb has turned on, Grace has left to spend the summer with her mother in Paris. And that’s exactly where Season 2 should end.

Season 1 set the precedent by ending on a big, angsty, cliffhanger for one of the show’s main couples. Is there anything more angsty than an enlightened Logan, ready to commit, being turned down? Plus, for maximum yearn, the show needs to draw out Logan’s crush on Hannah for as long as possible, ideally until the Season 2 finale.

We can envision those final moments now: In a switch-up from the book, we think Logan should head over to Grace’s dorm room to win her back after his conversation with Hannah. But her roommate should answer the door and tell him that Grace has already left for Paris. In the book, Logan doesn’t know about Paris. He only knows that Grace is ignoring his calls.

Grace’s summer in Paris would be the perfect montage to kick off Season 3, but we’re getting even more ahead of ourselves. Ending on Logan finding out that Grace left Briar would make their slow burn romance even more incredible. Can you imagine how powerful Logan’s yearn will be after that, as he tries to prove how much he loves Grace? Give it to us now.
