Love Island summer is almost here. In addition to Love Island USA, we’ll have the OG Love Island airing at the same time. The UK branch of the franchise just revealed all of the new singles headed to the villa, as well as a soccer-themed teaser as a nod to the World Cup. (The World Cup is airing at the same time. It’s going to be a busy summer.)
Among the 12 cast members who are looking for love, there’s quite a variety. The youngest among them is 21, and the oldest is 28. Their occupations range from West End performer to nurse to detective. We’ve rounded up all of those details below. What’s more, the new Islanders have revealed their types and relationship goals to ITV ahead of the June 1 premiere. Job: West End Performer
Ope, who’s from Lincolnshire, trained at the Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts before he started performing on the West End. His most recent credit is Hercules, and he’s also been a part of Disney’s The Lion King International Tour and Peter Pan (Royal and Derngate, Northampton), according to Broadway World. Though he’s a stage performer, he said, “I’m not here for the drama, and I want to find love, however, the drama could be funny. I love the ‘watching with a telescope, ooh what’s going on, sip the tea’ kind of vibe. I’m not here for the drama…but I’m here for the drama.”
When asked about his type, he explained, “I like shorter girls, I’m really big on hair, good teeth, and a nice smile. I prefer Northerners because they’ve got better crack. That’s just a fact. I haven’t really got a type, I honestly just go on energy, vibes, and if you find my jokes funny.”

Job: Fashion Business Owner
From Dubai but based in London, Jasmine goes for “objectively hot, really charismatic, and confident” guys. When she isn’t on reality TV, she’s running her fashion label, Mahila, alongside her sister Isabella. It’s an ethically-made clothing brand that “aims to represent contemporary South Asian women in the Western fashion sphere,” per Hypebae. She studied anthropology and has a keen interest in fashion, beauty, and music, and her clients as a model include Mugler, Rimmel, Converse, Nike, Adidas, Beats by Dre, Simple, Calvin Klein, Byredo, and Levi’s, according to her Contact profile.

Job: Property broker
Kent native Aidan says that he doesn’t have a type. “Personality is the most important thing for me. Obviously, I know if I find someone physically attractive, but if we’re not connecting, laughing, and having a good time, it just wouldn’t work for me. I like someone who’s fun, can take a joke, and doesn’t take themselves too seriously. If we’re constantly laughing and getting on, that’s what matters most.”
He also doesn’t see Love Island from a competitive standpoint. “I think everything happens for a reason, so I just stay in my own lane and let things play out,” Aidan said.

No one will be able to get away with anything with Lola in the villa! She’s a detective from Kent. “I like tall, Italian-looking,” she explained. “Dark hair normally, even though I always end up with blondes! Light eyes, but again, I’m not too fussy. I like someone who is quite big, as in a good cuddler, good muscles kind of way. In a personality, I like someone funny, I think funny goes such a long way. I like someone who is smart and can teach me things. I like book smart but even if they’re not book smart I like someone who is like actually teaching me stuff. Someone who does everything for me, but I can’t take the piss.”

This electrician from Dudley knows what he’s looking for in a partner. “My type on paper would be someone classy, mature, blonde, fun, and someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously,” he said. “I like people who can let their hair down and enjoy themselves.”
He continued, “I always go after what I want. Life’s too short for games, and I’m very honest about how I feel. When I like someone, I’m the least nonchalant person ever. There’s no messing around.”
