What To Know

  • Tommy Harr stars in A&E’s Zombie House Flipping: Family Business.
  • He works closely with his parents and brothers on every aspect of home renovation.
  • Tommy is married and has a young son.

Tommy Harr isn’t tackling house-flipping alone. In A&E’s Zombie House Flipping: Family Business, Harr has most members of his family involved in every stage of the renovation process, from inspection to interior design.

“All of them give me the confidence to take on houses that people are not willing to do,” Tommy, the oldest out of five siblings, told TV Insider ahead of the show’s May 30 premiere. “Most are these one-man or two-man shows who don’t have the background. That amount of confidence it gives us is extreme.”

Keep reading for everything to know about Harr’s family, including his siblings that aren’t in the family business and his wife.

Who is Tommy Harr’s dad?

Chris Harr has been a home inspector for 25 years. “He also had a property preservation business when I was growing up,” Tommy explained to TV Insider. “The banks would hire him, as they would foreclose houses to take care of them. As I hit 12 or 13 years old, I wanted to make a little bit of money and worked for my dad. I would work for him in the summers. As the oldest boy among five kids, I wanted to work with him for the rest of my life. As I graduated college, I became a full-time home inspector for him.”

Who is Tommy Harr’s mom?

Katie Harr, who’s been married to Chris for 36 years, is a designer and realtor. She entered the latter field due to Tommy. “I convinced my mom to become a realtor at the same time [when he graduated college] because I was going to flip all these houses when I’ve never done one before,” he said. “She thought I was crazy.”

Nobody in Tommy’s family had flipped houses before. “It was kind of this long shot where my mom thought I was crazy,” he added. “But they supported me. Now here we are 10 years later with a TV show about flipping houses. This is showing you can literally do whatever you want if you put your mind to it.”

Who are Tommy Harr’s siblings?

Tommy’s younger brothers joined the flipping business after they graduated from college. Jake is an inspector like his dad, and Will is a project manager in training.

Tommy also has two younger sisters, Mallory and Amanda. They appear briefly on the show, but they’re not involved in real estate.

“There are zero boundaries in our family,” Tommy said. “There probably should be some we put up, but there are none. We hang out almost every day. Ever since COVID happened, we realize, ‘Oh wow, life is finite. It’s short.’ We started going to family dinners every Sunday at my mom and dad’s house. They cook. My dad cooks. My sister is a chef as well, so they cook. We play games… We don’t talk business a lot. We talk a little bit of business, but it’s more of enjoying each other’s company. Sometimes there are little arguments, but most of the time it’s happy and cordial.”

Is Tommy Harr married?

The house flipper is off the market. Since June 2023, he’s been married to Maddi Harr. “[Two] years married with the incredibly gorgeous, smart, and caring woman,” he wrote on Instagram for their anniversary last year. “Marrying you was the best decision of my life.”

Tommy’s wife and 2-year-old son live inside one of his house flip projects, which they moved into six months before his show’s premiere. “I think it’s a great way to add the custom touches,” he told Realtor.com. “My wife’s been able to design our last three houses to exactly what she wanted.”

There are still some projects they’re working on together in their new home. “We did a lot of the stuff, but me and my wife are trying to build a garden in our backyard and I’m trying to have the greenest lawn in my neighborhood so I can have bragging rights,” he said. “I’m a dad now. My son’s 2 years old, so I’m interested in dad stuff now. I’m mowing the lawn, keeping it green.”
